View and BookPotash Wood is a peaceful site set in a rural oasis alongside ancient woodland, with lots of wildlife.
Easy off-road access, with hardened approach to pitches, electrical hook-up, water and waste disposal. Excellent TV reception.
The site is in an area of much variety, activity and interest. 5 miles south there are miles of sandy beaches, some Blue Flag; the longest pier in the UK, with an RNLI rescue craft and new Culture Centre. Southend has live theatres, cinemas and Regional shopping. To the North is yachting and river fishing on the River Crouch and Roach, and the historic marshes provide a natural habitat for sea birds. To the West lies Hadleigh Castle, with its park; the venue for the Olympic mountain bike track trail.
Within 5 minutes' walk The Cock Inn welcomes you to traditional pub food, Rochford Golf Club is a 5 minute drive and there are two big Sports Centres nearby.
There is clay pigeon shooting every Wednesday and every other Saturday between the hours of 10am and 4pm about 200 yards from the Potash site.

Just spent a pleasant six nights here. Booking was easy, given the gate code and parked where we liked whichever way round we wanted on arrival. Road outside was busy but high hedges blocked most of the noise. Loved that we were left to enjoy our trip... Show more

An OK site but nothing more. Needed a bit of TLC, grass could have done with a cut, and also some very bare patches where folk had camped, so best way of describing it was all a bit tired. I didn't need to use the facilities as I was only... Show more

NEGATIVE BIT. Even though we knew the site was 100m past the Lawns, we missed the entrance as the club sign was more visible from the other way. We managed to turn around about half a mile down the road though. The road is very busy and although a 40 mph speed... Show more

We had difficulty finding the site as the CC sat nav still gives the Lawn CL and the position is still for the Lawn, when we did find the site it was a different name “Potash CL”! If travailing north there is no sign to CL The... Show more

Nice site, but it is right next to a paintballing wood. We had no problems at all with noise as we stayed mid week. Not sure about weekends though. The site was very difficult to find, but after a couple of calls to the excellent "Terry", we found it, or rather... Show more

We stayed on this site for 2 weeks. Unfortunately the details given are not quite as it seems. It is anything but 'peaceful'. It sits just off an extremely busy road that has constant traffic with very often emergency services 'screaming by. There is I'm afraid the drone of cars... Show more
