Why stay here ...

Discover the real Essex from our new venture to open a Caravan and Motorhome CL, ideally situated for Maldon, Tiptree, Mersea Island, Cudmore Grove (East Mersea) and Tollesbury.

The Coastal walk is close by with amazing rural views, bird watching, walking, fishing, sailing and numerous golf courses in the area.

Maldon has many things to do and see, Thursday is Market Day with lots of independent small shops located in the small alleyways of this lovely old fashioned town. The promenade park is a lovely place to visit, go down the promenade and see the Byrhtnoth Statue. The Battle of Maldon, an early 11th century fragmentary poem which describes the battle, mentions the Panta and tidal causeway which could be the causeway leading to Northey Island. The Saxons were defeated and their leader, Byrhtnoth, was killed.

See the amazing sailing barges with the terracotta sails, an amazing sight in full sail, Beeleigh Abbey and Falls along the lovely walks by the Canal from Heybridge to Chelmsford if you like walking and Langford Water Works on the outskirts of Maldon with lot of wonderful old machines in working order; a wonderful Museum to visit.

Tollesbury village and wharf with places to walk around miles of sea walls and where you will see birds of all sorts than you can imagine and after that, a lovely restaurant and drinks. It is really lovely and then you can go paddle boarding or boating and start again; or go back to the CL for a sleep and dream about it.

Goldhanger walk to Goldhanger is left out of the gate, go on the grass verge, right into Church Road, see the wonderful walls of the remains of Beckingham Hall to the left followed by the Church, a few meters past the cottages on the right take the footpath, then go left as it goes into a bridleway, keep on the Bridleway to the road, turn left, follow over a small main road into Church Road, past a pub, (food and drink) into Fish Street at the bottom is a playing field go along a footpath beside playing field you are on the seawall, right to Heybridge, left to Tollesbury, (a long walk).

Mersea, watch the tides, the full tides go over the road at times. Right over the causeway you will find a fishing village, pubs, restaurants, beaches also to walk along. It is a really good place. To the left over the causeway, a lovely road, and Cudmore Grove a place to park, looking over at Brightlingsea, also with loads of walks.

Colchester, the oldest Roman town in England with a Museum in the Castle. You will enjoy.
