Harlow Certificated Locations

Harlow in Essex was one of the original New Towns planned out in the 1940s and incorporates Old Harlow, the market town that once stood there alone. It is situated on the banks of the upper Stort Valley on the border with Hertfordshire.

It is a place with plenty of culture and can offer a theatre, a museum, a large park, two art galleries and the Gibberd Garden, which is full of sculptures of famous people. All of them have a packed programme of events that you can time your visit around.

There is also Harlowbury, which houses the remains of an ancient chapel and monument as a des-settled monastic area, which is perfect for history buffs.

Harlow is ideal for outdoor pursuits too, as there are miles of walking routes and one of the most extensive cycle track networks anywhere in the country.

Once you have enjoyed the great outdoors, you'll be able to get refreshments at any one of the town's range of pubs, cafes and restaurants.
