Why stay here ...

The 0.75 acre CL at East Leys is open all year and is sheltered by trees and hedges while still allowing views across the Yorkshire Wolds. The site is lawned and level and we are on a hill top of chalk beneath shallow soils giving the site excellent drainage. We have a shower and toilet for the exclusive use of the CL.

There is drinking water at 3 points around the site, as well as an additional dedicated water supply at the waste point. The electric hook-ups are 16 amps and electricity is included along with vehicle, awning (if used) and 2 people in the pitch fee.

We are only 3 miles from the town of Bridlington with the typical range of shops and supermarkets as well as the usual seaside attractions. The Spa Theatre hosts a variety of impressive events and performances throughout the year. The Bridlington Priory and Bayle Museum are part of the historic Old Town with tea rooms and antique shops. Within 5 miles you can find sandy beaches, sailing, boat and fishing trips, game & coarse fishing, Bempton RSPB Reserve, Sewerby Hall, indoor swimming pool and leisure entre, golf courses, The John Bull Rock Factory, Bondville Model Village and Bridlington Birds of Prey and Animal Park.

The cities of York and Hull, and towns including Driffield, Scarborough, Beverley, Filey and Whitby as well as access to the North Yorkshire Moors and Howardian Hills (around Castle Howard) are all within an hour's drive of the site. Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere Hall, Scarborough Castle and Whitby Abbey will please those interested in history, while those wanting a faster pace of life can enjoy Flamingoland Resort (theme park with rollercoasters) and Beverley Racecourse, both also reached within the hour.

Although East Leys is primarily an arable farm (wheat, barley, potatoes, oilseed rape) we do keep a few sheep, goats and chickens - free range eggs are on sale when available. We have two ponies, Buzz and Dinky and we can't forget Stanley the dog.

A skydiving club also operates at weekends and on Fridays in the summer. As well as the opportunity to skydive (please contact Skydive GB directly) it also has a cafe and bar although opening hours depend on the number of skydivers present (usually determined by the weather).

Dogs on leads are welcome and there is a dog walk from the site through the woods and/or along the farm drive.

Visit our Facebook page or Website for more information.

Stunning views

East Leys Farm
We are just back from a two night stay at this lovely CL. We live about an hour away. We have recently changed back from motorhoming to a caravan, via a campervan or two in-between! We were looking for a CL not too far away, for just a couple of nights, to 'shake down' our van and get back into practice setting up. That's how we discovered this gem of a site. The CL is on a working farm but there isn't any noise intrusion at all. There are some cute goats, a pony and a horse in an adjacent paddock. The animals were all very quiet. If you have dogs who are reactive (ours weren't) the far side of the site is plenty far away enough for you to have space away from them. The site is pretty level, though our 'out of practice' skills and the rain, showed (as well as the discovery that our spirit level wasn't mounted in the right place, back to the marbles it is)! and we didn't get our left/right bang on but front/back we did! It was near enough for two nights though. The site is all very well kept grass with a quiet woodland walk directly from the site. There's a delightful 'sunset bench' for you to discover. The views are absolutely stunning all round. The toilet and shower are in an outhouse, basic but clean. Sharon was friendly and welcoming. She supplied us with information we would need on arrival and I'm sure if we had needed anything, would have been more than willing to help. Electricity is now coin metered, I think to counter-act the more recent breed of campers who seem to bring every electric appliance they own with them. Sharon gives you a couple of pound coins for each night of your stay. Over and above that, you might need to top up. We aren't the sort of campers who watch TV or use anything other than the basics, water pump, fridge and lighting after dark. We use gas to cook and make a cuppa. We still had about a quid left on the meter and another one in our pocket when we left! You can choose where to pitch. If you need longer cables, (we didn't as we carry two) you can help yourself to a loan from Sharon. This gives you flexibility about where you want to pitch up. We chose to go towards the bottom South/Western corner, using the delightful horseshoe shape foliage as a sheltered area in which to sit out and enjoy the sun and the peace and quiet. There's an abundance of birds to watch. There's also peace and quiet in spades. Despite this site being almost on our doorstep, we will definitely return. If you are not familiar with this part of Yorkshire, add it to your 'To Do' list and definitely take in a stay at East Leys. You won't be disappointed.

Lovely peaceful site

East Leys Farm
This was our first visit here and hopefully we will visit again. The site is well spaced out with the grass kept short. We were welcomed by the owner who was friendly and helpful. £20 per night, and the owner gives you back £2 per night in £1 coins for the ehu meter which was perfectly adequate for our needs in April. You can add more if needed or go home with coins if not needed. This is one of the more peaceful sites we have stayed on despite being a working farm there was very little noise. It was a true CL with only 5 outfits, no extra outfits behind a hedge as a separate site as you sometimes get. The toilet and separate shower were kept clean. There is a dog walk around the edge of the farm. Easy access into Bridlington and lots to do within a short drive.

Ideal base for exploring East Coast.

East Leys Farm
We have just had a lovely 5 days at East Leys Quiet, secluded and ideal site for exploring. Bridlington, Bempton, Flamborough 10 mins away. Filey 15 mins and Scarborough less than 30. Major supermarkets in Brid, Filey and Scarbough. Don't let the new meter system for elctric put you off. Electric cost us £20 for 5 days, but Sharon gave us £2 a dayp. So electric cost us £10 for 5 days. and we had the heating on every day. Don't go home without a visit to Flamborough Lighthouse to see the Seals and Yorkshires own Durdle Dor. Lovely walks around the cliffs. If you go when it is warmer you might see crazy people jumping out of planes with parachutes on the airfield next door..lol (our g/daughter did it)..
