Why stay here ...

Lower Liston Farm CL is on a working farm nestled in one of North Dorset's most beautiful valleys. A peaceful place in the country with natural organic meadows surrounding the campsite. There is an abundance of wild flowers, and mature trees throughout the farm, which attracts many types of wild life. It is an idyllic place to relax and unwind. Yet only 1.5 miles from the historic hill top town of Shaftesbury with the famous Gold Hill and the ancient Abbey ruins, resting place of  Saxon King Canute. The surrounding area has a lot to offer visitors, with Longleat House and Safari Park, Wardour Castle, Monkey World, Tank Museum, Sparkford Car Museum, Yeovilton Air Museum, and Stonehenge all within a thirty minute drive. Annually our local town hosts the agricultural show and carnival and  nearby the Great Dorset Steam Fair.

The farm is situated down a private drive visible from the A350. Beyond the farm you will pass through a small commercial site (Five Oaks Caravan Park) to access my Lower Liston Farm CL, which has large individual pitches with electric points, grey water disposal and water. There is an allocated toilet and shower on the commercial site, along with washing-up and laundry that members staying on the CL can use. WiFi is available and free on site. Dogs are welcome as long as they are not allowed to roam freely on the site and exercised in the designated walking area.

From the CL there is a footpath for those who like a stroll, this leads to a network of paths for the more serious walker. There are villages from these paths, here they have a local shop and local country pubs where you can stop for food and beverages.

Bliss

Andrea and Graham, who run this site, are a lovely couple. The site is spotless and the facilities first class. It is a lovely location and very secure too. Being an adults only site, means there is very little to disturb the peace. It is our go to location for... Show more

We keep coming back.

This is a super well maintained campsite in a lovely peaceful position close to Shaftesbury in North Dorset with friendly and attentive owners. The pitches are all of a good size and are flat and level. They all have metered 16A ECUs (very easy to use and monitor consumption -... Show more

Excellent CL - recommend wholeheartedly

The owners are lovely - very welcoming and easy going, with help given to us before we even got there. They are caravanners themselves. The CL is at the bottom of the site, with I think seven additional hardstanding pitches close by. There was a maximum of six vans when... Show more

'Far from the Madding Crowd'

We had 4 nights in early June and it was wonderful. We have no complaints whatsoever. The site is perfectly located and sufficiently separated from the farm to feel fully immersed in the most beautiful Dorset countryside. We were always drawn to the glorious ‘Thomas Hardy’ views of oak trees... Show more

Brilliant Caravan Site.

We have stayed here a number of times and although the CAMC states it has a temporary closure this was for 2023 and not 2024. The CL side of the CAMC seem to be falling apart with their website pages outdated. So take no notice of the CAMC website... Show more

Lovely, peaceful stay

Stayed 4 nights at Lower Liston Farm CL and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It is not the biggest CL in terms of space between vehicles if all pitches are taken, but it wasn't full when we were there so we did indeed have open views of the... Show more

Lovely CL

I cannot add more than to say all earlier reviews are accurate and helpful. We enjoyed 10 nights of leisure time with nice people on site, caring owners and happy Labs using the dog walk. Yes, we will be returning again this year if Graham the owner... Show more

Lovely CL

The rating says it all. Very impressed with everything. Lovely people. Treated very fairly over a matter that was out of our control. Would revisit in a heartbeat. Fully intend doing next year.

A beautifully maintained site surrounded by places of interest

We've stayed here three times now and will re-visit. The site is well-maintained, with planting between the pitches. The shower/toilet block is clean and convenient. There are recycling facilities and a small washing-up area with an electric kettle. There is an area for dogs adjacent to the site. The wifi... Show more

Perfect Weekend

Just spent 2 nights on this lovely little site. A last minute booking, we weren’t disappointed. Stunning uninterrupted views of green fields, hills and sheep. We were only there for 2 nights so didn’t really explore the area, but a well facilitated site. Good showers and toilets. Lovely owners. Access... Show more
