Why stay here ...
Uplands is a CL with big sky and views across the Mole Valley to Exmoor. We are located in a village setting but we have a rural feel with plenty of peace and tranquility. The village offers a C16century pub which features in the good pub guide or there is the Mole Resort, they also offer other outdoor activities. Additionally, Chittlehamholt is lucky to have the award winning community shop for all those necessary bits and pieces.
Uplands is a good central base to explore North Devon, the historic towns of Barnstaple and Bideford are approximately 25 and 35 minutes away, we have many beaches a short drive away and 7 golf courses within 20 miles. If fishing, walking or cycling are your passion you can enjoy all of these activities and many more whilst staying with us. Each pitch has 16amp hook-up. Please use green chemicals, as we are not on mains drainage. All pitches are hardstanding.
There is no charge for awnings or pup tents but please use a breathable ground sheet on grass pitches.
Man’s best friend is most welcome but we request that dogs be kept on a lead to protect the wildlife. There is plenty of space to walk your dog if you do not choose to leave the site.

What a little gem
Uplands
We followed Colin’s directions to the letter and had no issues getting to the site at all. It is tight but there are passing places. On arrival we could not have had a warmer welcome. Colin is the perfect host and the welcome pack is a fantastic addition giving so much useful information about the site and the local area.
As already mentioned the shower facilities are immaculate and cleaned every day. Although we did not use it on this trip the fridge freezer would be a huge bonus for longer stays. The dog walking area is lovely and perfect for first thing in the morning and the late night walk.
All in all this was a fabulously positive experience for us, the site was excellent, Colin was 5* and the weather was kind. We will definately be back when next in north Devon and would recommend this site 100%.

Directions looked helpful on paper but were tricky, and local long-established road closures could have been part of them. Site is lovely, really clean and well-equipped. Nice touch of fridge-freezer space in loo block was appreciated. Amazing views. Small dogwalking field in front but perhaps unnecessarily strict with dogs on leads when we were the only people there. Local pub is excellent, need to book. Dogwalks locally very good.

What can we say to add to all the other glowing reviews…? Thank you for a wonderful stay. Ok the weather wasn’t great but we had a lovely sheltered pitch and your facilities are fantastic. You think of everything! Your welcome pack was very well thought out - giving us all the information we needed. The bathroom was excellent and spotless, the shower nice and hot. All communication with our booking was easy and stress free. We loved our stay and look forward to coming back. Thank you Colin and team from Belinda, John and Elodie 🐾

This is a great CL and very good value. All hardstanding pitches with views down the valley. Facilities include a shower and toilet which is very well kept. On arrival you are given a very helpful welcome pack and that sets the tone for a friendly, relaxing place to stay. Recommended!
