A Gem

North Upton Farm
The site is well kept, toilet and shower block clean, take a stroll to bottom of fields to watch sunset. We used bus to get around which is a 1.8 mile walk to Churchstow, hourly service, ideally placed if you like the beach or for walking.

Excellent

North Upton Farm
Just had two weeks at North Upton farm, a great site ,closely mown grass with the cuttings actually collected (unusual on a C.L.).Unfortunately it got very cut up and muddy near the entrance following 2 or 3 days of heavy rain but nobody can control that. The toilets and showers were kept very clean . Surprised to hear that PAYNE01 had problems in the lane , yes it is narrow but there are numerous passing places ,I tow a 17 foot van behind an Xtrail and didn't have any great problem but then we didn't find it a problem putting the awning up on a slope , compared to some CLs I've been on it was relatively level. The pub in Bantham does excellent food and there are lots of great beaches around.

We will be back!

North Upton Farm
North Upton Farm was the first CL we visited after spending many years camping. The owner wasn't around when we arrived but we were given clear directions to our pitch on the phone prior to arriving, we met the owner the following day and she was a lovely, very laid back and friendly lady. The site was well kept, short neat grass, very clean toilet and shower block and a clean waste disposal point. The pitches were spacious and although slightly sloping, it was easy, even for us first time caravanners, to level up. The lane to the site had plenty of passing places which were generous in size, I met a tractor and trailer when leaving and managed to pass (2nd time towing), admittedly it was tight but not impossible. Easy access to Bantham Beach and its lovely pub (who manage to get brewery lorries delivering to them), salcombe and kingsbridge. A great few days away and we will definitely be returning.

Beware access and slopping site

North Upton Farm
Access to this site is very poor, we totally agree with previous comments on this page.  If we had met another caravan outfit there would have been serious problems, we too left early to try and avoid oncoming vehicles, but were forced into the side hedges on numerous occasions as it seems boy racers where heading for the surfing beach.  The site is badly slopping and very exposed if the  weather is bad.  We would not erect our awning as the ground slopping in two directions was completely unsuitable.   The field is shared with camping families who are accommodated on a flat part of the field whereas the caravans are directed to the slopping area.  We were not able to choose our pitch as names of bookings were already posted but 'no shows' before we were able to leave.  Surely it should be first come first served as there is only one pitch that is anywhere near level.  The grass is very well kept and the facilities, which are shared with the static site, were very good but it should be mentioned that the showers are payable at 50p for four minutes.

A lovely site

North Upton Farm
Stayed here for 3 nights in our motor home 8/5/15 we were the only ones on the cc site. The grass was all cut short and the facilities were all clean and tidy we didn't see another person although there were cars outside the outfits in the static field and the owners were out when I went to pay. There is a short walk down from the site which looks over a small estuary which was very peaceful and a good spot for bird watching. Bantham just down the road is great with a good beach and a good place to start a coastal walk. The food in the Sloop inn was very nice. We would recommend this site and would stay here again if visiting this area
