Why stay here ...
Set in beautiful Devon countryside only 1 mile from Holsworthy with its weekly farmers market and shops selling local produce along with a Waitrose for those extra items. There are plenty of good local pubs that serve quality food at a reasonable price and are within easy walking distance. The nearest beach is Bude or Widemouth which are 8 miles away and a little further is Boscastle, Tintagel, Crackington Haven, Sandymouth and Duckpool.
Higher Shorston Lakes offers 19 acres of grounds, three Coarse fishing lakes (day tickets available and fishing licence is needed) and a small area of river frontage. There is a playground and play area, two toilet/shower rooms. There is an abundance of wildlife to see including ducks, geese, chickens and the occasional deer.
All pitches are hard standing and measure 10 mtrs x 6 mtrs allowing enough space for a caravan/camper plus awning. You will also have your own grassed area adj. Pitches are cut into the slope of the hill so Motor movers and 4 wheel drive are advisable for larger units.

What a Gem of a find

A hidden gem
We absolutely love Higher Shorston lakes. We recently had our third visit there. The site is fantastic, beautiful surroundings and extremely well maintained. Great site, Tight access
Directions to the road the site is on is easy to fine. The entrance to the site does not have the usual sign at the gate [its 20 yrds in] once you have found the entrance. It is a very sharp and small entrance and I would suggest almost impossible... Show more

Outstanding owners
Shortly after arrival our electrics stopped working. Despite Brett trying every possibility it seems the control panel needs replacing. What a find, keep it to yourself!!!
