Why stay here ...

Our CL caravan site lies in the heart of Devonian countryside between Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks, five miles from the Atlantic coast and away from the tourists yet close enough to beaches and surf (Westward Ho, Saunton Sands, Instow and Croyde ) as well as miles of free National Trust coastline (great walking and stunning views!)

Close by, the pretty market town of Great Torrington still has a family butcher, grocers and bakers (oh the aroma of fresh baked buns!) as well as pubs and cafes and its own small market. There is also the lively Plough Arts Centre with live music, theatre and film and it's own restaurant.

Popular nearby attractions include the magnificent R.H.S. Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Crystal Glass Factory, the Barnstaple and Bideford Pannier market ( food and antiques), Torrington 1646 (civil war re-enactments) and for the more active the Tarka Trail cycle route (30 miles of scenic cycle path), North Devon Surf School, kite surfing, sailing, golf (9 beautiful courses), PGL and Skern Lodge outdoor adventure centres, quad biking, paintball survival, fishing (freshwater and sea), climbing wall, the Milkway indoor children's adventure centre, The Big Sheep farm experience for kids and grownups!

There is plenty of outdoor and indoor entertainment to suit all age groups and all weather and a lot of it is free!

Buzzards, Owls and Lundy Views

The peace and quiet is perfect for sleep, just the mewing of buzzards and munching of sheep. North West there is Lundy; a beautiful view and morning delight for seas so blue. Ann and her site so perfect does keep.

Just what you want in a CL

We spent just the one night here, out once pitched up after the rigours of the M5, we wished we had booked for longer. Easy to find using the supplied directions. Wonderful Devon landscape with lovely views. So peaceful and quiet. Like others, we visited RHS Rosemoor, with a little... Show more

Warm hospitality despite cool weather

We have just spent 5 nights at this secluded but attractive site. Lovely views in a beautiful area. Unfortunately it rained during much of our stay and we also had problems with our caravan's Truma heating system. The site owner did his best to assist us in identifying the fault... Show more

Peaceful site

Spent a lovely night at this site, very peaceful and situated off the beaten track amongst beautiful scenery. Lovely owners, who (in the nicest way) left us to choose our pitch and settle ourselves in. Very relaxing and a gorgeous sunset when we were there. The site had the basics... Show more

Lovely CL

An extremely peaceful site with nice views.  Very pleasant, helpful owner.  The grass was kept well cut & access is easy.  Nice to have 'good electricity'.  The only downside was it was not walkable to a pub but that is minor.  Would return if in the area again.  Thank you.

Far from the Madding Crowd

Spent a lovely week here on peaceful site with friendly, helpful owner. Weather disappointing but we still made most of the area. RHS Rosemoor is a must-see garden only four miles away and worth visiting more than once. Great Torrington full of history and friendly locals. Lundy... Show more

Off the beaten track

Firstly..check if your stay will be adults only.  We booked this site during half term and expected to be adults only, but towards the end of our stay a family turned up, who were clearly frequent users of the site!  The site is easy to find using the final instructions... Show more
