Dartmouth Certificated Locations

The town of Dartmouth is situated on the banks of the River Dart on Devon and lies within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Its pretty surroundings, riverside location and streets lined with historic buildings make it the ideal place for a relaxing summer holiday, no matter what your age.

Wandering around town will allow you to check out the medieval and Elizabethan buildings, notably the Butterwalk, where Charles II held court as he sheltered from a terrible storm in 1671.

There are also the remains of a Civil War defensive fort at Gallants Bower, Dartmouth Castle, the steam railway and Agatha Christie's Greenway holiday home.

You'll be able to enjoy outdoor pursuits including hiking, sailing, kayaking and more - and when you've finished, dine out at one of the many pubs, restaurants, cafes and takeaway outlets.

Don't miss the annual Royal Regatta either, which boasts boat races, a fun fair, markets and an air display over three days in August.
