Why stay here ...

Sleepy Hollow has spacious 7m (21 feet) wide hardstanding pitches suitable for caravans/ motorhomes with awnings. The pitches have EHU and the site has a toilet and shower and is a 1 mile walk to the town of Wirksworth. Dogs are welcome onsite and there are walks direct from the site. There is also plenty of space for BBQ’s.
Wirksworth has many hidden gems – Ecclesbourne Valley Steam Railway, the star disc, the Heritage Centre, the National Stone Centre, the Hidden Garden as well as numerous pubs to cater for all tastes – real ale, live bands, good food, dog friendly – whatever suits your needs! In addition to this Wirksworth is renowned for its art and craft so you will find boutique art shops – when you need a break, have a breather in one of the numerous coffee shops or French Bistro.
There are also cash machines and a Co-op (with fuel station) should you need cash or pick up supplies, not forgetting a variety of takeaways.
If you enjoy the outdoors, the High Peak Trail can be picked up a mile from the Caravan Site at Middleton Top, cycle hire is available there, and there are many short and longer walks around the area. Carsington Water is a quick drive (or walk) for those wanting to walk/ bike/ run around it (1/2 miles away from site). The visitor centre there also offers water sports from paddleboarding to sailing and trout fishing.
5 minutes further afield and you can be visiting Cromford and Richard Arkwright's mills for those wanting to know more about the history of the area, and for the book worms – Scarthin bookshop is a must in Cromford (as are the cakes in the café there!)
Matlock, Belper, Ashbourne and Bakewell are close by – and there are bus routes from Wirksworth that can take you there. Historic houses such as Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Kedleston Hall are all in easy reach.

Both well-behaved children and dogs are most welcome. We look forward to welcoming you to our site.

Sleepy Hollow campsite

Sleepy Hollow
We used the route instructions Helen gave us and found the site reasonably well, as we have a habit of getting lost anyway. The site was very well organised and the pitches were a nice size. Helen and Adam were very welcoming and kept the site very clean and tidy. The area was outstandingly beautiful and there were lots of routes to walk or cycle or jump in the car and go further afield. We were here for two weeks and enjoyed every minute. We will be back to this area and will certainly stay here again.

A little Gem

Sleepy Hollow
This Cl site is a hidden gem, lovely large hard standing pitches with beautiful surroundings. The facilities are spotless and very quaint with lots of hot water. Helen and her family are super checking on us every day to give us lots of advise on walks, and all other information we needed. Well worth a visit we will be back 10 put of 10.

Fabulous CL

Sleepy Hollow
Lovely little CL with everything you might need. The information and directions sent out prior to arriving were excellent. We found our allocated pitch easily and got settled in. Helen was over to welcome us shortly afterwards and is a wealth of knowledge about walking / cycling in the local area. The hard standing pitches are huge and the toilet and shower and pot wash facilities quirky but very clean with plentiful hot water. We would highly recommend the site for exploring the Carsington Water area, just watch out for those hills!

Can't recommend this CL more highly!

Sleepy Hollow
Communication from the site owner before I arrived was excellent with directions how to get here easily. The site is now fairly level (the pitch I was on at the bottom of the field was perfectly level). The toilet and shower sheds were excellent - very novel. I don't like washing up in the caravan so a pot wash area was great. The site owner met me on arrival and suggested a couple of walks in the locality and how to walk into Wirksworth (off road). The owner was so helpful and friendly over my stay that I will certainly be staying here again in the future - thank you for a lovely 5 nights

Lovely little friendly site

Sleepy Hollow
Lovely little site which we found very peaceful. The owners were very friendly and extremely accommodating. Quirky shower and loo facility we found very charming, and were always clean and tidy. The field was always well mowed inspite of the beautiful British weather. Overall a lovely little C.L Site which we will definitely return to.
