Silloth Certificated Locations
The views from the port town of Silloth across the Solway First are second to none and best enjoyed at sunset, when nature puts on a spectacular show.
To boost Silloth’s credentials as a picturesque spot even further, famed landscape artist JMW Turner liked to paint in the area during the 19th century.
Prosperity came to Silloth by way of the combination of railhead and port, which is reflected in the prominent landmark of Christ Church. It was built out of grey granite brought across the Irish Sea and stands proud in the town to this day.
Modern day Silloth is characterised by its beautiful planting, with the wide streets lined with trees and a spacious green right on the seafront.
