Excellent stay

I stayed one night en route to Scotland & can recommend the site. Excellent comms with the site owner who is really helpful. Very easy to find, pitch and relax. Other people were pleasant & good atmosphere. Site clean, tidy & will be returning for longer stay. Walk to Rheged,... Show more

Stunning views

A lovely gem of a site in the North Lake District with stunning views towards the ullswater valley. The owner is friendly and helpful. The site is beautifully presented with mown lawns and shrubs, trees and even a dry stone boundary wall. Access is very easy from the... Show more

Just a beautiful site.

I stayed here for one night as on my way to Scotland. Perfect site as it’s just off the M6 or if you on the A66. Few minutes across the M6. Very quiet and easy to find. Lovely views from any pitch. Also be a great site to stay for... Show more

Gem of a site

Just arrived back from this fantastic little site. Amazing views from any of the hard standing pitches. Easily accessible off the m6. 4 miles from Ullswater so easy access to walk or visit the tourist places but then come back to peace and tranquility. We visited the pub which does... Show more

What a gem of a site

What a lovely site with bus stops almost at the site entrance affording easy access via public transport to Keswick in one direction and Penrith in the other. Yes, the site is slightly sloping but that gives you a better view from the two pitches set slightly further back and... Show more

Good for more than a Stopover point at Penrith

It would be easier and quicker to name the things that are poor with this CL rather than list all of the good points but when I've come to think of the poor things then they aren't really that bad. You have to drive over grass to reach 3 of the... Show more

The best view from caravan window!

We love this C L, very easy access from from M 6. Bus stop outside the gate, into Keswick and beyond. Owners are very friendly. Even in poor weather the view is great. Good hardstandings and the site is kept very tidy.

The best CL we have been too in our limited yrs of Caravanning.

We arrived on a damp and windy Sunday afternoon and after getting the legs down and sited, Andrew decided to come and ask if we wouldnt rather have the beautiful view down the Valley? So we whipped the legs and 4 of us managed to spin the twin wheeler round. It... Show more

Our Favourite CL in Cumbria!

We have been coming to this CL for nearly 10 years now and it's in the top 5 of all the CL's we've stayed at in our 12 years of caravanning. Mrs Richie's late parents ran the CL for many years beforehand and they were lovely folk as are... Show more

3 day stop

Stayed here for 3 nights end of March 2018. Really nice site with fantastic views towards the mountains south of Ullswater. Easy access to public transport, and a nice pub in the nearby village of Stainton (Kings Arms Inn). Does great food, and the ale is not too bad either. No... Show more
