We've stayed on this site twice so far this year; once in April, and most recently in August. As mentioned in another review, the site layout has changed. It is now only a 3 pitch site due to the 2 small luxury cabins that have been built taking up the space... Show more

If you think you are going to have an un-obilterated view of Bassenthwaite Water (as per the picture) you, like us, will be massively disapointed. The site now has 2 wooden clad Mobile homes (See https://kilnhillbarn.co.uk/) Lodges at the front of the site obscuring the veiws from the CL pitches... Show more

The views from the CL are stunning - in between Lake District clouds! And a motor mover is pretty much essential here - especially if the ground is wet. However, for a CL in such a beautiful location, a little bit of investment to sort drainage, mark out and perhaps extend... Show more

This is our 4th visit and the views are very special,still peaceful and a good walk to the sunn inn well worth it food great Just a couple of niggles the hardstanding has worn away making it muddy on the front pitches, Theresa who is looking after the site said... Show more

We have just had our first stay here and this site has amazing views, The Sun Inn a mile away and plenty of walking in the area. We loved the location and would stay again, however, we have one or two things to mention, our first encounter with the owners... Show more

Spent 4 nights in October. View from the pitches towards Borrowdale is fantastic. Site is very quiet. Somewhat muddy in wet weather. We stated this time last year that we would return here as it is a delightful place with wonderful views and for once the weather was the icing on the cake. Great base for walks and access to Keswick and nearby areas of interest. Lambs bouncing around with bird... Show more

We have just returned from a six night stay here what a great c/l site. Fantasic views and good walks from site, to lake and skiddaw, chickens every where along with very lively lambs and birds of every varity. Would recommend the sun inn for food and drink very welcoming staff. First... Show more

We chose this site for its proximity to the Lakes Distillery, having been given one of their gift tokens as a birthday present. The CL was easy to find. The owners were welcoming, and showed us the available pitches, and location of water/waste points. All 5 piches were occupied but well... Show more
