View and BookThis is a small intimate site situated on the edge of the pictures village of Hawkshead. A slightly sloping site with fantastic views. Excellent for all levels of walking. The village is well equipped with amenities where there are four pubs, all serving food. two village shops, post office, chemist and Dr surgery, numerous café and gift shops.
Attractions within the village are Beatrix Potter Gallery, Wordsworth Grammar School. The award winning Hawkshead Relish Company. Chocolate factory. St Michaels all angels church. A Recreation ground with children’s play area, tennis courts and crown green bowling.
Walking into the village by road would take approximately five to ten minutes, by footpath via fields ten to fifteen minutes.
There is a bus service at the bottom of the drive giving access to most of the lake district, day passes are available.
Within a five-mile radius there is Beatrix Potter’s house (Hill Top), John Ruskin museum Coniston, Windermere lake cruises, Grizedale forest activity centre, Wray Castle, Brockhall activity centre, access to wainwrights walking. On National Cycle network. Plus, many more attraction within the area.
Electricity supply is 16amp but unfortunately is unable to cope with the charging of electric cars or bikes, the nearest charging point is at Ambleside four miles away on low fold car park. (Near Hayes garden world).
Dogs are welcome on the site and there are plenty of dog walking opportunities but they must be kept under control, for the benefit of other members and we are a working farm.

minimum three-night stay. (Three nights stay must be paid in full at time of booking).
Departure by 12 noon- arrival from 2pm onwards.
Non- returnable deposit required for stays over three nights to be paid within two weeks of booking. £25 per night for car and caravan, £5 extra for an awning. Extra car £1 per night to be arranged.
Motorhomes – can only accommodate to a maximum length of 7m or 22 feet.
At certain times of the year we may ask you to park your car on hard ground close to your van to try and preserve the site for everyone. And only use a ground sheet if necessary.
On site we have electric hook ups 16amp, waste disposal point, grey water disposal point, two water points one for caravans and one for motor homes, TV booster and cables, we encourage recycling and the use of organic toilet fluid. We are adjacent to a working farm.

A picturesque and peaceful site. Only sounds was a small river, birdsong and sheep. Easy walk into Hawkshead which has lots of great amenities, pubs, shops, restaurants, history. Ignore the negative reviews, this is an excellent CL Site. We approached from the north (Ambleside) and on approach to Hawkshead some 80 mts past Hawkshead farm Camp site on the left, is the entrance to Keen Ground. There is a white Lodge at the gate, turn right. The road... Show more
