View and BookThe Crown CL is adult only and has 5 large pitches suitable for your car, caravan and awning. Each pitch is serviced with hookup water and electricity and has beautiful views of the surrounding hills.
There is a designated shower room / toilet for CL use only. The Crown is open Friday to Monday, please check our Facebook page for weekly updates.
We are surrounded by excellent walking country with Middleton In Teesdale only 3 miles away via the railway walk. Barnard Castle with the famous Bowes Museum a famous market town is 7 miles away which has a lovely scenic golf course too.
We also have the very popular High and Low Force falls and various river walks. Dogs are welcome to our site.
We have the facility of a Micro Barn which sleeps 2 if you have friends who may wish to meet up with you on your stay - details on our website.

Just back from a great weekend at the Crown. Huge, flat hard standing pitch (pitch 5), all with drinking water and electric. Grey waste and chemical disposal not far at the entrance to the CL. As others have said, the shower room is accessed through the side of the beer... Show more

I am really confused about reviewing this site… it does without doubt have lovely flat hard standing pitches and the views are superb however and this is where my confusion occurs… because although we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay I wouldn’t return… now some people have reviewed that only one... This is no doubt a lovely spot. Right next to rolling hills and dozens of walks both up hill and flat along the old railway line, and very quiet (I assume unless a late night event at pub). The plots are huge and incredibly level, each one with its own... Show more

£30 per night did seem a bit steep and also the requirement of paying the whole balance of your stay a week before arrival seems to be a common thing now since covid I'm afraid. Never saw the owner or was greeted on arrival, so can only really give a... Show more

Our go to site, never disappoints. Large pitches, fully serviced, gorgeous views. Feel close to nature, dark skies great walks. The Crown is closed but watch out for pop up Crown Outdoor events in the lovely garden. The Blacksmiths Arms is close by good pizzas. Love this site.

great site.the most spacious I have come across. cannot comment on toilets etc as didn't use them. adjacent to village with walks and a pub, the blacksmith's arms (no idea why or for how long the Crown inn is closed for). the only let down was the floodlight shining all... Show more

We have been regular visitors to this CL since it opened. We enjoy the local walks and the pub. It has now increased its price by 25% with no improvement in facilities. Still only one toilet. There is no Motor home waste disposal point and no WiFi on site. What has... Show more

Let's be clear this is a very good well maintained CL with large well serviced hardstanding pitches st in a lovely location supported by a warm welcome. It's what you might be expecting but is not available you need to be aware of. Electric hookup is on every pitch BUT... Show more

A well maintained site with good size pitches which are nice and level. Some excellent walking from the site, Middleton in Teesdale is a fairly easy 2 mile walk along the railway path, you can explore Middleton, have tea and cake before walking back. The Crown closes on a Monday but... Show more
