Why stay here ...

Amalwhidden Farm is a family-owned smallholding, set in the peaceful setting of Towednack, near St Ives. Our site is surrounded by beautiful Cornish countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the Penwith moors, ideally located for exploring all the best West Cornwall has to offer.

THE SITE: The site is a one-acre level grass field. It is well maintained and has easy access direct from the road. There are electric hook ups, a water point, grey water, chemical disposal point and a rubbish/recycling point. Please note, there are no toilet facilities on site. The pitches are well spaced with ample room for awnings. There is access to footpaths for dog walking.

OUR COARSE FISHERY: We have a well-stocked coarse fishery with 2 lakes. Fir Tree is a mixed coarse fish lake and Heron is our carp lake with fish up to 15lb. Day Tickets can be purchased onsite with rod hire also available.

CLOSE BY: St. Ives with it’s beautiful harbour is just 3 miles away. You can wander the cobbled streets exploring the shops and galleries, spend the day on one of the many beautiful beaches or simply while away your time in one of the numerous cafes and restaurants. On the water you can take a pleasure boat trip to Seal Island, there are fishing trips, self-drive boats, rib rides and paddle-boarding too. For easy parking take the Park and Ride and enjoy the scenic train journey from St. Erth along the coast into St. Ives. You can also take a trip on the open top bus from St. Ives along the coast road to Lands End and Penzance.

ON THE SOUTH COAST: Penzance is only a 10-minute drive, from here you can enjoy a day trip to the Isles of Scilly by sea or air. From the quaint village of Marazion at low tide you can walk across to St. Michaels Mount (National Trust). Praa Sands has a beautiful mile-long beach ideal for surfers and swimmers. Mousehole is a classic Cornish fishing village with a tiny harbour and is just 2.5 miles south of Penzance. Camping and Fishing… what’s not to love

Lovely site just outside St Ives with fishing on a small site with toilet, water and waste. Neil the owner is lovely and helpful with the fishing, 2 lakes, 1 with carp to 14lb but an awful lot of fish and great for beginners. We can’t recommend this site enough... Show more
