Great site

Polgarth Farm
Lovely site, beautifully kept with very friendly owners. All pitches had own water supply which is a god send after spending days at the beach with the kids and having to de-sand them on return! Great location, very peaceful and close to perranporth. Lovely walks from the site (be warned, the route to the local beach is steep!). Would highly recommend here and we will return next time we are in the area!

Majestic views, friendly welcoming hosts.

Polgarth Farm
Friendly owners, beautiful cliff walks into Perranporth and St Agnes. We have had 11 days here and it was worth the long tow from Cairnryan! We got to enjoy the real Cornwall and will cherish our memories here.

Cornwall Haven

Polgarth Farm
Our second visit to this site, and 10 years since the last. It hasn't changed a bit and the same owners are still as friendly and welcoming as ever. Pitches are allocated by signage when you arrive, and all pitches are beautifully situated. Nice to have our own water point. The whole area is well laid out and maintained with planted borders. There are walks over the cliff tops into Perranporth to the north, and St.Agnes to the south. There is a bus stop right outside the site for busses to Perranporth, Newquay or Truro and Falmouth. Numerous villages within a short drive, but generally good access to all Cornwall due to its fairly central location. Highly recommended.

What a cracking site

Polgarth Farm
We’ve just spent 7 nights here late oct into Nov. Despite heavy rain the field was well drained and beautifully cut with no clippings left. Level pitches all with EHU (16A) and freshwater tap. Friendly owners who have been here a long time and know the area and the business. Lent me a gas spanner at 8pm after mine broke. Happy to allow us onto the site early to save parking in a lay-by. Good dog walking field and a 25 min walk down to Cove where you will also find the brilliant Blue Hills Tin Streams (closed in the winter) St Agnes is 5 mins away by car and we can recommend the cornish pizza company there. Local shops and a great bakery to boot. Perranporth 5 mins the other way and Newquay about 20 mins. Miners Arms at Mithian is an absolute must but you need to book. Anything goes wrong with your van the fantastic Aztec Leisure are 150 yards down the road and so far I’ve not found any spares they don’t have. Cheap for chemicals etc as well. Can’t wait to return here again.

A nice site with wonderfully friendly, kind owners

Polgarth Farm
Easy enough site to find, although we thought we'd gone past it when following directions from the club handbook. This was not the case. Polgarth Farm has a wide & obvious entrance with big sign outside.Easier to look out for this rather than the 'white stones' as per the handbook! The pitches all have water & electric which is a wonderful provision! The pitches are all very well spaced out so you're not on top of each other. Pitch 1 is the best in our opinion because it's slightly more sheltered with beautiful hydrangea plants separating it from other pitches, giving more privacy. Recycling was easy & accessible. We didn't use the washroom facilities as these were out of bounds due to covid 19. Mr Parris is simply lovely! Very chatty, friendly, helpful, kind. Perhaps one of the loveliest site owners I've come across! He wasn't intrusive but he was always around if needed. If we had to criticise the site at all it would be lack of, or poor quality / cheap signage. When we arrived nobody was around to welcome us, which wasn't a problem, but with a dog, our first port of call is often a walk & we didn't know where to go for this so ended up walking out onto the main road with no pavement and finding ourselves down some back lanes in the middle of nowhere in not a particularly nice area which didn't fill us with much joy - first impressions & all that! This farm is large with lots of gates & fields going off the main entry driveway so they could easily incorporate a beautiful dog walk with poo bins & with clear & professional signage to things like dog walk, coastal path, washroom, etc. Even the information sheet given out later on into the evening of our arrival day wasn't very clear / a bit lacking. It's perhaps quite hard to explain things that are routine to you so signage on gates, tracks, fields would be really useful. Just a thought! It was very windy whilst we were there so go prepared for Cornish winds if you have an awning & ask for pitch one! There's a great camping shop just 100yds up the road from Polgarth Farm if in need which we found very useful. There are lovely walks direct from the site to the cove / coastal path in either St Agnes direction southwards or Perrenporth direction northwards. Something we discovered towards the end of our stay (unfortunately) was the wonderful Miners Arms pub a mile & a half away in the village of Mithian. Really quaint local pub with very friendly staff & wonderful food. We would highly recommend but you will need to book! Perhaps an information sheet with things like this on would be a helpful & welcoming tool to have upon arrival? But otherwise a lovely site and people & would return. Thank you Mr & Mrs Parris!
