Overnight stay

Cameo Adult CL
Stayed one night en route to Scotland. Warm welcome by Lawrence and full explanation of facilities. We were allocated Pitch 1 due to ease of access and egress however we didn’t appreciate how much road noise there would be, continuing even through the night. We left earlier than planned as we hadn’t slept well. Even the occupants of pitch 2 commented on the road noise.

A lovely spot with a warm welcome

Cameo Adult CL
Laurence is a great host and we received a warm welcome and lots of info on nearby places to eat and things to do. Felt quite spoilt with the fully serviced pitch & wifi, plus the onsite flushing toilet. Lovely surroundings with chairs and benches to use and pots of flowers. We stayed for 2 nights over a weekend in our motorhome and loved it. Yes there is a bit road noise but it didn't bother us. Apart from that it is quiet & peaceful. Busiest time on the road was Saturday morning. Not bad at all in the evenings or at night. You can walk to 2 pubs. We walked to the Bulls Head in 15 mins and had a lovely pub meal - huge portions! We visited Jodrell Bank and the Anderton Boat Lift. Would definitely stay here again here if were in the area.

A CL with heart

Cameo Adult CL
We are still on site and travelling on tomorrow. We are very happy here, the owners were very welcoming and helped us onto the pitch. Such a lovely couple. It is a basic campsite with no shower, but hey, a fully serviced pitch ! The toilet is new and is very clean. The space around the caravan is ample and a picnic bench belongs to it as well as a silver birch . The campsite is a small holding, so we are seeing pheasants, chickens, a cat and a horse and donkey. A lot of wild birds, the dawn chorus is amazing, the owl makes itself heard late in the evening and the owners have made a lot of effort to make it nice. Carefully placed plants, hanging baskets and even two little ponds make it really nice. The road is a bit noisy, but there was no traffic in the night which woke us. We live in a road which has a car every hour and none at night, so road noise elsewhere usually keeps us awake, but we slept well and solidly. If you like wild life, a clean toilet, a rural feel and good location (brilliant for the M6) then look no further.

Relaxing and comfortable haven

Cameo Adult CL
Third time to this lovely welcoming cl. It feels like coming home to arrive here and be greeted by Annette and Laurence. Access to the site is good. Look out for the flags. You are greeted at the gate by both Annette and Laurence armed with lots of information and loads of hospitality. Being guided to the pitch and helped to site in position by Laurence is a big help. The pitches are level side to side. Sometimes blocks are needed for front to back levelling but not on every pitch. We always use pitch 1. Although closest to the road we prefer it for ease of toilet emptying. Yes the road is very busy and noisy at times but it doesn’t spoil the beauty of this site. Having serviced pitches and free reliable WiFi is a big bonus. There is a toilet and washroom available if needed although we tend to use our own facilities. The antics of the animals in the paddock keep you amused. Wildlife is encouraged with bird feeders etc. We enjoyed watching the rabbits and squirrels. We plan to return next season again and again. Thanks to Annette and Laurence for creating this little haven.

'Herded'

Cameo Adult CL
Arrived for a weekend just behind another on a Friday afternoon. Hot & tired we waited on the main & very fast A50 for the 1st arrival to gain access through the gate. Following them in we gained access to the field & joined the other 5 Van's (plus motorhome on the driveway) to make a total of 7! We were 'not allowed' to use our motor mover to put the van in position, as it ' non pneumatic jockey whee tyres tare up the grass.....who has a pneumatic tyre there days!!! so we were 'herded' into position with 'helpful' military style left hand down/right hand down etc. onto the pitch, I would have preferred to take my time as usual and work at my own pace. The A50 was extremely busy all weekend day & night which was unfortunate. I'm sure Lewis Hamilton & Max Verstappen were training on the road that weekend along with Valentio Rossi & all his friends. The services on the pitches are great. The toilet is very clean (although the walk through the dog exercise area, around the tractors & past the static caravan arnt the best) It would also be better if the Van's faced the other way over the adjoining field & not across to the side of the property. I dont appreciate being hearded or told 'if you let me finish' especially when I'm hot and have just had a testing drive on Friday afternoon. Maybe I am too precious. I wont return and neither will anyone else I know. I can only hope others have a better experience.
