The market town of Wisbech is situated in the Cambridgeshire Fens in the far north-east of the county, right on the border with Norfolk.
It is known as the Capital of the Fens thanks to its scenic beauty and range of things to do, which attract thousands of tourists each year.
You can wander around town to see excellent examples of Georgian architecture in the Crescent. Don't miss Elgood's Brewery, which has remained the same for nearly 200 years and still brews real ales - take the tour to learn more.
There is also National Trust stately home Peckover House and the Wisbech and Fenland Museum, which houses the original manuscript of Charles Dickens's Great Expectations.
If you're keen on walking, take the opportunity to hike around part of the Fenland, including the Ouse Washes Landscape. This is right on Wisbech's doorstep and boasts some great wildlife.
Back in town, there is a range of shops and a twice-weekly market if you want to browse and buy gifts or vital supplies, as well as pubs and other eateries at which to enjoy a good meal.
