Shefford Certificated Locations

Located in Bedfordshire, the town of Shefford is lucky enough to have two rivers running through it. These waterways are responsible for the name Shefford or “sheep-ford”, as traditionally it was the spot where farmers forded the Flit and Hit rivers to get to market.

Roman remains found at the beginning of the 19th century in Shefford show that there had been a settlement in the area for many hundreds of years.

Other points of interest in Shefford include a fully-operational ironmonger’s and a microbrewery, which provides beer for the local area. There is an angling centre to supply those who wish to fish nearby.
