With Experience Freedom, there are so many options for staycations, whether you’re looking for a Safari Tent in the Cotswolds or a Glamping Pod in Brighton. Each is set up for the perfect home-away-from-home experience. There are universally accessible options too for those who may need wheelchair access and amenities to suit their needs.
The units available are the Universally Accessible Glamping Pods, which sleep up to 2 adults and 1 child, suitable for a range of accessibility needs including level entry, large wet room and custom-built kitchen. The other is the Universally Accessible Glamping Cabin, a larger unit size that sleeps up to 5 (3 adults, 2 children). Similar to the Glamping Pod, this accessible cabin is complete with all of the facilities to make it an enjoyable and comfortable experience, without compromising on life’s little luxuries.
Emma Wiggs MBE, British Gold Paralympian, recently visited the stunning Cayton Village with her partner and dog Bramble and stayed for a few nights in the Universally Accessible Glamping Pod. The high-end pod is set up with modern features that are different from the “clinical appearances” she told us she often encounters when staying in accessible accommodation. With underfloor heating, adapted kitchen and bathroom, gated veranda and parking close by, this experience was enjoyed by all of them; Bramble especially liked the heated floors.
After the recent refurbishment at the site, Emma found it very easy to get around in her wheelchair, with plenty of parking and a designated dog-walking area that the three of them enjoyed. They visited Filey Beach which is only 8 minutes away in the car and because of the hard sand, they were able to wheel and walk along the beach; an experience that Emma said: “is overwhelming for me, the first time in 20 years where I have been able to wheel and walk the dog along a beach”.
If you would like to book your own stay with Experience Freedom, prices start at just £59* per night for the Universally Accessible Glamping Pod and just £69* per night for the Universally Accessible Glamping Cabin. These accessible units are available to book at Troutbeck Head in the Lake District and Cayton Village in North Yorkshire.
