These beautiful venues are not only interesting and unique, but are a great place to indulge in a tipple. Take a tour, make your own and even taste some of the highest quality spirits in the country. Plus, Caravan and Motorhome Club members get some amazing discounts at these locations.

The Gin Bothy Experience

Caravan and Motorhome Club members get 10% off The Gin Bothy Experience[1]. Located in the sprawling hills of Fofar in Scotland, The Gin Bothy Experience has a variety of activities for gin lovers to enjoy. Catch up with loved ones in rustic and cosy tasting rooms at the classic Gin Bothy tasting, and sample four delicious gins. You can add on mouth-watering sweet or savoury platters if you get peckish.

You can also have afternoon tea - with a gin twist! Devour sandwiches, sausages rolls and sweet treats whilst enjoying a tipple. You’ll be greeted with a glass of gin fizz upon arrival and three further gins as you eat. 

If anyone in your party doesn’t drink, or is a designated driver, there are lower-cost options. The classic gin tasting comes with a ‘driver's gift’ goody bag to take away, including two mini bottles of gin.

The Spirit of Wales Distillery

Caravan and Motorhome Club members get 50% off at The Spirit of Wales Distillery[2], a must-visit if you’re in the area. There’s plenty of fun to be had at this distillery, including a tour, drinks tasting night, cocktail masterclass and even the chance to distil your own bottle of gin or rum. Learn how some of your favourite spirits are made as you tour the Newport Distillery, enjoying welcome drinks on arrival and a tasting of three full-flavoured spirits. 

Spark your creative side and make a custom gin or rum suited to your preferences. On the first Friday of every month, take part in a fun-filled evening where you can taste the best the distillery has to offer whilst playing musical bingo. Or, become a master of the art of cocktail making with one of the classes at the distillery, where you’ll learn how the experts make such delicious drinks.

Nelson’s Distillery and Experiences

Caravan and Motorhome Club members get a 10% discount on this experience[3]. The reviews of this gin, vodka and rum school speak for themselves. There are two experiences to choose from at this distillery in Nottinghamshire - a five-hour immersive journey to making your own craft spirit, or a two-hour guided tour and tasting. 

The first option is a unique and memorable one, where you’ll embark on a fascinating journey into the world of rum, vodka and gin. Craft a blend unique to your taste and have fun as you do it! A light lunch is provided as you mix your one-of-a-kind tipple, and you’ll finish the bottle off with a wax seal and label.

If you choose the latter, you’ll tour, talk and taste your way through three exquisite gin and tonics. These handcrafted spirits are some of the finest the distillery has to offer, plus, you’ll be taught fascinating history of distilling. Get up close and personal to the 150-litre copper still, Victory, where some of the gin you’ll be tasting is made.

Whittaker’s Distillery Ltd

Caravan and Motorhome Club members can enjoy 20% off when they book this experience[4]. Whittaker’s offers a brilliant tour and workshop, both of which provide insight into how the distillery makes some of the world’s best gin and whisky.

When you take the tour, you’ll be offered a beverage of your choice before you depart. In the old distillery building, you’ll get to see, taste and smell the fragrant botanicals used in the production of the spirits. You’ll learn about the gin and whisky making processes, and have the chance to ask experts questions you may have. 

The workshop includes the tour, as well as a whisky making experience, where you’ll work side by side with expert distillers, as you turn water, barley and yeast into delicious and full-bodied single malt whisky.

Treguddick Distillery and Café

When you are a Caravan and Motorhome Club member, you can get a brilliant 25% off your booking[5]. Whether you’re a fan of gin, vodka or rum, Treguddick Distillery, home of the UK’s widest variety of spirits and liqueurs, is the perfect place to visit. Currently available is the General Spirit Tour and Tasting Experience or the Distillery Tour and Tasting Experience.

This tour is best enjoyed under the sun, due to the beautiful botanical domes and on-site water springs, but whatever the weather, you’ll become immersed in the distilling and fermentation processes. You’ll learn each step in the process to producing luxurious liqueurs and mouth-watering malts,

Quayside Distillery

Learn, create and enjoy your very own unique gin blend in the lab. Enjoy a gin and tonic on arrival, before learning all about the distillation process, and the steps included in making your own alcoholic beverage. You’ll bottle, seal and label your gin, before having any left over with your choice of mixer. A unique addition to this experience is that your recipe will be kept on file with a unique reference code, so you can re-order your personalised recipe at any time.

If you choose a classic tour and tasting instead, you’ll still have a blast. Sip your way through a wonderful range of vacuum distilled spirits, as well as a large glass of gin or vodka and tonic. Alcohol-free options are available for designated drivers, too! You will also learn about the distillery, and the unique production methods used to create the high quality and flavourful spirits.

Goldstone Rum

Caravan and Motorhome Club members can bag a 10% discount on this experience[7].  Just a half an hour drive from the bustling city of Brighton, Goldstone Rum is a great day out for lovers of the liquor. The Spirit Lab experience lets you get hands on, and create your own 700ml bottle of the good stuff. This popular attraction includes complimentary cocktails, a tour of the vast distillery and a step-by-step guide to distilling. You’ll also get to make a unique and personalised label for your bottle!

If you are happy to leave creation to the experts, why not stick to a tour-only day out, with prices as little as £10 per person. These tours only run once per month, so you’ll need to secure your space as soon as you can. You’ll learn loads about scratch rum, and receive a tutored rum tasting to warm the cockles of your heart.
