6 great reasons to stay at Brighton
Be inspired to take a trip to the seaside with 6 great reasons to make Brighton your next camping holiday destination.
Our Brighton Club Campsite is nestled in the South Downs overlooking the city and is a great base to explore this beautiful corner of the South Coast, welcoming tent campers, caravanners, motorhomes and campervanners as well as glampers.
We've lowered our prices this year by up to 9% at Brighton Club Campsite on selected dates in 2024^ (price reductions already applied), which gives you even more reason to plan your getaway to scenic East Sussex. Find out more at camc.com/ukoffers.
From the campsite, there are footpaths and bridleways to allow you to explore the Downs, or there are great local buses if you want to head further afield. Bikes are a fantastic way to discover the area too - just be prepared for the hill coming up from the seafront!
Brighton Beach
Turn right before the Marina and you’ll hit the main seafront! You can walk along all the way to the Palace Pier and beyond which is a good hour or so, or there’s the Volks Railway. Their Black Rock Station is a 25-minute walk from the site and the traditional little seaside train will take you all the way long to the Aquarium Station next to Palace Pier and Sea Life Brighton.
Get up close with sea life
Sea Life Brighton originally opened in 1872 and is the world’s oldest continually operating aquarium. The Ocean Tunnel gives you an amazing view of this underwater world, or you can take a glass-bottomed boat for a different view. There’s something for the whole family to enjoy - my favourite since childhood has been the rays, on display in the stunning Victorian Arcade.
Take in the sea air
The Undercliff Walk runs just over 5km along the chalk cliffs to Saltdean. About an hour’s walk will get you to Ovingdean Cafe where you can fortify yourselves with a coffee or hot chocolate and maybe a bit of cake ready for the walk back - there are buses if you want to save your legs on the way home. Brighton and Hove Council has more information on access and facilities
A different view
For adrenaline fans, the Brighton Zip is the longest zip wire on the South Coast, and the tower provides incredible seafront views. For those who prefer to remain slightly closer to earth, there’s also the Zip Deck, a rooftop bar and kitchen which serves coffee and ice creams as well as classic British food and a range of drinks.
Find food everywhere you look
If you’d like a break from city life then how about foraging in the wild for the best produce Nature can offer? Along with expert foragers, Urban Foragers teach you what to look for, you can discover delicious food hiding in plain sight. There’s a range of workshops, some of which include a foraged lunch, and it’s a great way to get the whole family together.
