Renault’s first win at our Towcar of the Year competition was in 1980 with the 20 TS, followed by the 21 GTS in 1987 and in 1995 with the Laguna RT 2.0 – and that’s just the beginning.  

This French manufacturer has had a further 10 Towcar of the Year Awards in their trophy cabinet, besides the overall winners also having class wins through the 1980s and 1990s. In more recent years, the Renault Vel Satis V6 3.0 dCi Initiale won in 2003 and the iconic Espace receiving the same award (Best MPV) in 2000, 2004 and 2005. The most recent appearance was in 2016 when the Renault Captur Dynamique Nav dCi 110 won in 2016.
