Summer Heatwave

Glen of Aherlow
We booked this site during the pandemic. At the time of our stay the Republic had not fully opened but the facilities block was open with the exception of the recreation and tv room. Restaurants and cafes etc with outdoor dining were I bit hard to find during this time. The site is a bit isolated with the nearest shop being about 7 miles. The weather just made it. No Mediterranean or far flung holidays due to COVID but who needs that when you have a heatwave of around 30deg c.

Great site to stay at

Glen of Aherlow
Stayed here in March and what a clean tidy site. George worked all day cutting grass and making sure everything was OK. Pitches had water and EHU's a few slope but mostly level. Close to Tipperary and a good place for walking to the pub which had a Information place at the rear. Fantastic views of the mountains from your pitch.

A lovely, quiet site with stunning scenery and great walks

Glen of Aherlow
A lovely, quiet site with stunning scenery and great walks. Showers and WiFi are free. Even if the Reception building appears to be closed, the staff appear within seconds and are extremely helpful. The Aherlow House Hotel is about a twenty minute walk up the hill behind the site - with gorgeous views and a great menu. Everyone is really friendly - there was a wedding on when we were there, but there was still plenty of space, great service and food, and we were even given wedding cake after our meal. There is also a small pub (‘The Coach Road Inn’) just a short stroll from the site entrance. It might look closed from the outside, but just push open the small red door to the left of the building (as you’re looking at it) and it’s really friendly. We sat beside a nice little open fire - even in July.

Gem of a site

Glen of Aherlow
Wife and I stayed here overnight in June and what a lovely site it is. Pitches are well spaced and generous in size while the views are gorgeous. There's no play area or other "entertainments" which suits us fine. The toilet/wash block is clean and very modern. Like all the sites we stayed on in Ireland, there's free wi-fi.

Just returned from spending 6 nights at this excellent site which is situated in a wonderful part of Ireland. Brilliant for walking & cycling or if you just want some peace and quiet then this is the place for you. Great facilities, free showers and Wifi and very friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit and we look forward to returning in the future.
