Has the structure of the website changed?

The headings at the top of the home page (primary navigation) haven’t changed much, so you’re still easily able to find your way to key information about the main Club products and services – the main difference is that “News and Events” is called “What’s on” on the new website.

However, we have simplified the structure of our website below these main headings, so it’s easier for you to find specific information.

What’s new on Club Together?

Whilst the format of Club Together has been kept similar so it remains familiar, you can now easily add photos (up to 5 per post) and add links to videos - some of the features most requested by users!

If I can’t find something straight away, what's the best way to search for it?

The website search tool on our new website offers improved capability to find the content you’re looking for. We also have a new FAQ tool, which is a great starting point if you have a specific question you want answering. You can also speak to a member of our friendly Contact Centre team via Live Chat.

Why can non-members see CL details now?

We have opened up more of our website to non-members, to give them a flavour of the full range of benefits they can enjoy when being a member of The Club. Rest assured that CLs remain exclusively for members, and each CL's contact details are behind a member login.

Why can non-members see technical info now?

We have opened up more of our website to non-members, to give them a flavour of the full range of benefits they can enjoy when being a member of The Club. We want to help our future members as they decide to explore the idea of touring and then start caravanning.

Have there been any changes to how to book an overseas site or ferry?

We’re excited to launch this new website, but there are lots more improvements we want to make. Whilst we weren’t able to improve the ease with which Overseas holidays can be booked as part of this stage due to the scale of the project, it is one of the areas we will be improving as part of future developments.

My Profile

Can I still see bookings I made on the old site?

Yes – there have been no changes to the My Profile area of the site, so you can log in using your existing login details to see all your usual account and booking information.

Are all profile details on the new Club together?

Yes they are – all these are the same in the new website, and no user details are changing.

Do my website login and password for member only areas and Club Together still work?

Passwords to access the main website and Club Together haven’t changed, so you can continue to access the website as usual. If you forget your password, you can use the password reset tool to update it.

I'm new but I can't see my posts on Club Together, where are they?

New, non-member users will have their first three posts checked by a moderator before they appear on Club Together. This is to limit the opportunities for spam on our forum. Your posts will appear on Club Together once they have been checked by a member of the Community Team.

I have been logged out, why?

For data security reasons, users will be automatically logged out of the website after 30 minutes of inactivity. This is to protect your account information, should you forget to log out.

I can't see where to leave a review

You can review a site you have visited by going to the site page. Further down the page there is a ‘Reviews’ tab. Within this tab you will have the option ‘Rate this site’. You can rate and review the site here.

Club Together

What’s new on Club Together?

Whilst the format of Club Together has been kept similar so it remains familiar, you can now easily add photos (up to 5 per post) and add links to videos - some of the features most requested by users!

How different is Club Together?

Having listened to feedback from Club Together members, we’ve tried to keep Club Together similar so that it remains familiar. The way it looks and works is similar to the previous Club Together but with enhanced features such as the ability to add photos and embed links to videos. We’ve also corrected some bugs from the previous Club Together, such as the formatting of quoting in posts, and removing the star rating system.

Is there a different sign up procedure for the new Club Together?

There is a slightly new sign up procedure for new members joining Club Together, to ensure the security and safety of the new website. On sign up to Club Together, a valid UK mobile phone number is requested, and on submission of the new registration request the new joiner will be sent a registration code. The new joiner simply then needs to enter the registration code as part of the sign up procedure, so the code can be verified and they can be confirmed as a club together member. If you don’t have a mobile phone, you can sign up to Club Together using the current process and we will administer your registration for you. You can be assured we will never use your phone number for marketing purposes.

In addition to this, moderators will look at and check the first three posts for all new non-member Club Together users to check that they adhere to the community guidelines, to ensure that Club Together remains a friendly, welcoming place.

Do my website login and password for member only areas and Club Together still work?

Passwords to access the main website and Club Together haven’t changed, so you can continue to access the website as usual. If you forget your password, you can use the password reset tool to update it.

Are all previous discussions and reviews on the new Club together?

All previous discussions are being copied over to and included in the new website, as are all site reviews made since 2015.

Are all profile details on the new Club together?

Yes they are – all these are the same in the new website, and no user details are changing.

How do I add photos to a post?

You can add photos and video links to your posts by using the buttons above the text box. You can upload up to 5 photos and link to one video per post. All photos must be below 500KB.

I want to upload more than 5 photos

You have the option to upload five photos at a time in your posts on Club Together. If you wish to upload more than five photos, you can do so by creating multiple posts. Please be mindful, however, of the Community Guidelines when posting; other members may be put off contributing if one user seems to be dominating the thread.

Some threads have been marked “read-only”. These threads are not open for comment, but will be available for everyone to view.

I'm new but I can't see my posts on Club Together, where are they?

New, non-member users will have their first three posts checked by a moderator before they appear on Club Together. This is to limit the opportunities for spam on our forum. Your posts will appear on Club Together once they have been checked by a member of the Community Team.

What is a Moderator?

Community Moderators are ordinary members of The Caravan Club who contribute their free time to help support Club Together. They do a superb job under often difficult circumstances, and as such we want to make sure that our Moderators are treated with respect. They are not paid and are not responsible for the site, they have volunteered because they want to see Club Together grow and develop and be a community we can all be proud of. As such we ask that users of Club Together respect the Moderators at all times.

Where are the Champions?

The Community Champions are now referred to as Community Moderators. Their roles and responsibilities remain the same; the Community Moderators are here to help.

Why have you removed the star rating for users of Club Together?

We’ve removed the star ratings from Club Together following feedback from our Club Together members and Moderators. The main reason for this request is to encourage posts to be relevant and in keeping with a leisure forum.

Accessibility

Is the website still accessible?

The website achieves Web Content Accessibility Guidelines level 1.

Is the website fully optimised for mobiles now?

Most pages of the new website are device-friendly, which will help you when visiting our website when using phones or tablets. There are some transactional pages that are not yet device-friendly, and these will be included in future phases of development.
