Very convenient when going to France via Calais

We use this site when crossing the channel from Dover to Calais and also for the night before our return trip. The facilities are very good. The restaurant next to the site is excellent. We always enjoy our meal there. Have not stayed more than one night but this is simply that we use it as a staging post.

Good site near Calais

An ideal site close to both car ferry and eurotunnel. Friendly staff, good facilities and nice restaurant in adjoining hotel for your last holiday meal before heading home

Good Location for Calais

We have used this site on a couple of occasions this year, it is well located being 15 mins from Cite Europe and Eurotunnel terminal. The people are friendly and have quite a relaxed attitude to dogs, as does most of France. The facilities are long due an upgrade and it is surprising that they attain a 5 star rating, nevertheless they are adequate. We were caught out on last trip, we stayed outside their ACSI period which is late in September. This site is good value with ACSI but expensive without. Restaurant is very popular so book early.

September 2015

Been going to the camp site for about 20 years and until this year was happy with it, however I think its gone downhill?  firstly I note from the caravan clubs description you get free wifi if you stay more than two nights???  I stayed 7 nights and had to pay 13 euros and I have had to pay in the past as well.  The internet access was poor.  It had been raining a lot but the pitches where I was were just bogs to be honest I think we should have been kept off them.  The electricity seems to have been scaled back as the week went on as I noticed that my supply was getting worse as the week progressed and basic appliances had to be switched off in order to allow another appliance to work.  The owners started a programme of cutting trees and a field behind me when we arrived so the noise during the day was like being on a building site.  The water and drainage point where I was has not been upgraded and you have to drag your waste water container up into a drain and sort of balance it to empty it? this means waster water flows all over the place. This site gets 5 stars but does not deserve it in my opinion.  Its in a good location and easy to get to with the new road but it has seen better days.

Good overnight stop

This site is ideally situated for using the shuttle.  We have stayed here on several occasions.  The staff are always very helpful, guiding you to your pitch.  The facilities are a little tired as other reviewers have pointed out but are perfectly adequate.  We have never used the pool so can't comment on that.  There is a shop, bar and takeaway but again we haven't used them. We will be using this site again.

One night stop

Have used this site many times on our journeys north and south from Calais, as it's convenient for Eurotunnel and the ferries. Returned this time as, although we feel it is expensive for the standard of its facilities, it is far enough away from the problems going on at Calais to give us peace of mind that we will not be affected by migrant issues. Very helpful reception staff, who showed us to our pitch. They'd had a lot of heavy rain of late, so the pitches were very soft and lacking in grass due to some thoughtless campers/caravaners who had used plastic ground sheets. Why do French sites allow this practice? As we were only staying for the one night, we didn't use all of the leisure facilities, but the toilet blocks, while clean, are a bit tired. Quite a trek to the toilet emptying point in the morning. Would we use the site again? Yes, when it's in it's ACSI period and yes if we felt that we needed the peace of mind previously mentioned.

La Bien Assise August 2015

We used this site as a stopover for the ferry on the way home from the Vendee. The proximity to Calais is perfect for an early ferry crossing. I have to commend the Reception staff who were very helpful, in fact the lady handling my booking walked with us to our pitch. The swimming pool with its slide was a big hit with my grand kids although the toilets and showers, whilst clean and adequate could do with an upgrade. Our pitch was large enough without being very big and was in good condition considering the wet weather. We only used the take away service for food and was of reasonable quality for the price. As to be expected with a site that is used as a stopover there is some noise early in the morning as people leave site for onward travel. We will definitely use the site again when visiting France.

Perfect stop over on way home

Have used this site for the last 4 years either as a night stop when travelling into France or as a night stop when travelling home. Have always had a fantastic reception when arriving - site is perfectly suited to those night stopping, with good access to the autoroute. Facilities are a little tired, but are always clean and tidy. Pitches can be a little on the small size, and really suffer in wet weather. Plenty for the kids to do - pool always a hit no matter what the weather. Only downsides - restaurant over priced for the quality of food provided, and due to the "transitional" nature of the site there is a lot of traffic early am and pm as people leave to catch boats / trains or travel into France which can be disturbing as they tend to drive through the site on the way out!! Will continue to use when visiting France

Good stopover

Stopped here on the way back to Blighty via the ferry. Great for what we needed; overnighters are sent to the far end of the site and usually caravans are able to remain hooked to the car. There's a good field for running the dog. Toilets are unisex but fine (the white tile floor is a poor option - muddy and slippy). Bar and food OK if a little overpriced and out of a freezer; not French cuisine! If I were staying here a while I'd be concerned about the size/proximity of the pitches. Plenty for kids to do.

The perfect location

We used the site as a stopover on our way down to the Loire valley and back again as it was in the perfect location for us to get the tunnel. We found the staff really pleasant and all the facilities clean and tidy so a great site that we'd use again
