This was our first holiday away in a motorhome - we originally went to Belgium but cut it short due the weather we had 4 nights left on our holiday and this campsite had an indoor pool for the children which was about all we could do as it never stopped raining!!! the campsite staff were very helpful and friendly my children had a great time with the freedom of the site , the facilities were very clean even though we weren't too keen on the unisex side of it if you wanted a heated loo/shower block! The bar served very nice food and the shop fresh bread and croissants.
We would use this site again as there is alot to see and do in the surroundings and we really did like the site - perhaps next time we could choose a week with sunshine !!
Excellent site and facilities
We stayed here for three nights over May half term, a lovely site, well laid out with lots of trees and shrubs and varied vegetation to create a pretty site. The pool was small but warm, unfortunately the waterslide is outdoors and not heated so this was a little too cold for the children. It is a few minutes walk from a nice village centre and feels like a friendly, relaxed place to stay. Lots of things to do with the family on site. We will return.
June 2016
We stayed for 8 nights in June 2016. The pitch was large and had water and waste and a 10 amp electricity supply which did not trip once! (A first for France). The site was busy with one-night stop overs but this was expected as it was half term. I found the facilities clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the restuarant was excellent. I intend to use this site more often in the future as it is ideal for stop overs.
We Keep Coming Back
We have stayed here a lot of times. It is convenient, as we arrive on Eurotunnel and often about 7pm, so I can book the site in advance, as in August it can be full. Once set up, we always walk in to the town, and then come back and have a beer in the site bar, which almost makes it feel like we have arrived in France. I say almost, as there is too much English being spoken to feel like real France, but it is close.
Pitches are good, facilities are fine and the staff are friendly. It makes a great overnight stop as we arrive in France.
However, a lot of people have their whole holiday here. If you have never been to France before, it gives you the chance to try it out. It is a nice site for a longer stay, and the area is very nice. Great beaches, nice scenery and Calais itself has some interest. There a lot of things to see and do in a fairly small area.
Excellant overnighter
This is a well managed, maintained, and clean site which is ideally placed for anyone who wants to be a few miles from calais for the crossing. The facilities are good with a restaurant, bar, play area and swimming pool and the pitches are spacious. Easy access to and from the motorway system makes the experience all good.
Excellent site
We have stayed at la Bien Assise several times before and always thoroughly enjoyed, this time was no exception. You may get some traffic noise but on the whole its not a problem. Excellent facilities with very helpful staff. Easy to get to and provides an excellent base for popping into Belgium for the day.

Excellent for overnight stay
The site was excellent for our first night in August. All facilities were operating and it was very convenient for the tunnel crossing. Staff very helpful Out second night was four weeks later towards the end of the season. The restaurant, cafe, shop swimming pool etc. were not operating so we struggled to get a meal or buy food and we did not know this was the case. The heated shower room was excellent at that time of year. We would go again.

Excellent site very convenient for Calais Port
We stayed at Bien Assise three times for night halts both arriving and departing for Channel Crossing. The site is an excellent site with lots of facilities for Families.there is also an excellent restaurant and also cafeteria with take away meals.. We have previously stayed overnight in Calais but with the continuing problems there we most certainly continue staying at Bien Assise.
Convenient
Stayed at this site before on the way to Dunkirk. Pitches are damp and to much shade. Most people stay here just for the night I couldn't imagine staying longer. Staff are good but the site is overpriced for what is available in September. Pity we haven't found a more convenient location for the ferry.
