Good Site near to Bayeux

We stayed here for 2 nights on the way out & again 2 nights on the way back. Very pleasant site close to Bayeux (definitely worth a visit). Campsite resturant is good .Onsite shop is well stocked(good bread).Plots vary depending which part of the site you are on but all are ok. Would use this site again.

Lovely rustic French site

We only stay here for 2 nights once on the way out to ile de ré  and once on the way back. We didn't really see a lot. Wished we had booked for a few days as it had a lovely feel to it.plenty off room and only about 35-40 minutes from the ferry port at Caen. Toilets were clean and I've never been on a site with so many showers there are loads of them. Bar and restaurant looked nice but we didn't have time to use them.please remember to have a French adaptor if you stay there.

Beautiful Campsite

This a a beautiful campsite, from the minute you turn off the road and drive down the long straight driveway up to the Chateau itself. There are Tent sites between the trees along the long driveway then the Caravan/Camper sites are placed either side of the large walled garden. All of the pitches are situated between trees, with the pitch numbers nailed to the trees, they're more that adequate for large Caravans and our Camper + Awning was easily positioned. The staff at the Reception were very welcoming and helpful and spoke very good English (a lot better than we spoke French). The shower and wash facilities had obviously been updated, since some of these other reviews have been submitted and were clean and spacious. We only stayed one night at this site, as it was a stopover en route to Brittany, but we wished we had stayed longer. The little shop sold everything necessary for your stay, fresh bread, gas, wine etc. it even had a specific freezer to freeze your cooler bag blocks and there was even a bar. The only negative was the electric hook-up, we needed an adapter as it was a standard 2-pin plug and the price in the little shop was a bit expensive. All in all, this was a very pleasant and quiet site and we would happily visit there again.

Great site in good location

We stayed in 5 sites in Normandy all booked through the Caravan Club and this was our favourite - partly because we had 3 nights here and 2 at our others so we had longer to appreciate it and it was easier with a motorhome to have an extra night (lesson learned in our first season motorhoming!). The chateaux is lovely, the site is a bit crowded but quiet - our pitch wasn't great as we were on a corner and felt a bit limited on size initially - however a bit of manoeuvring and we were soon happy with how we were able to set ourselves up. The facilities were good and plenty of them and the activities were great - especially the fishing pond which was good fun for all ages. The owner was very friendly as were all the staff and we felt very happy here. it's very close to Bayeaux but also easily accessible to Suisse Normande and the D Day beaches etc although we moved on up to Utah area for these. There is a lovely restaurant and well stocked shop (bit pricey). We'd definitely go back here - we described it as having rustic charm.

Beautiful Site

A very well kept site in the grounds of a beautiful old Chateau only 30 minutes from the Ferry at ouistrehem and a nice location for touring most of Normandy with Bayeaux and the Normandy beaches in very easy reach. The site is very clean and tidy and very helpful staff If you want quiet make sure you get a pitch on the entrance side but if you have kids go the pool side . Points to note you will need a continental electric adaptor although the site will loan you one if required . The Wifi is very poor and does not cover the whole site as advertised and the bar is a tad expensive but overall a great site.

First trip to Normandy

This site was excellently situated for our tour of the Normandy landings, just a short distance ( 3 miles app) to Bayeaux. Very good facilities peaceful in June, but cannot speak for Aug. Would definetly use it again.

So much better than the municpal in Ouistreham

This was our second summer trip to France, using the Ouistreham ferry. Last summer being newbies and the ferry not getting in until 9.30pm, we opted for the municipal site just up the road. It was OK but nothing more than OK so this year we decided to try this site. Less than 25 minutes from the ferry and so much better!!! When we arrived there was no notification of a pitch number on the office door but the lady in the bar told me where to pitch, we also did not have the correct French extension for the power and they opened the shop for me at well after 10pm so that i could get the cable. Bathrooms excellent, looked new, pool basic, no slides but was being cleaned when we were there and looked good, would be a good stop for two or three nights in the area I would think

Lovely site in the grounds of a delightful traditional French chateau. Very convenient for Caen ferry port.

This is a delightful site in the grounds of a traditional old french chateau. The chateau itself has that quintessential French rural charm of being just a little behind the times and still in an era just passed! Despite this impression, the facilities are first class with very modern sanitary facilities, a relaxed bar and restaurant in the old chateau buildings. A private swimming pool is well maintained and very welcome on a hot day! The pitches are spacious with a selection of levels of privacy and shade to suit individual preference. Remember to take a French plug in extension for the electric hook up though!

Excellent Site, Lovely Setting

We had a great stay here. The chateau is very impressive, the grounds are beautiful, the robot lawn mower is very cute, we would get one if we had a country estate. Reception was very helpful and the restaurant is very good. We cycled into Bayeux for daytime sight seeing using mostly quiet lanes. Not the fault of the site, but for info, the only issue was the cost of a taxi into Bayeux for the evening, 25 Euros each way. But the site is very highly recommended!
