We have not visited Putts Corner for many years, and were delighted to be there again, the recent improvements have made this a location not to be missed, from the very friendly greeting from the warden team on arrival, to witnessing their desire to help visitors - when their dog had gone missing in the local woodland, it was straight too it. The whole team are amazing ambassadors for the club, and the provision of sites to members, well done and thank you for that. It was obvious that a lot of work has gone on here, the new toilet block is brilliant, some of the best showers in the club, Putts is in danger of becoming a bigger favourite over Hillhead. The one way system and the tree work have greatly improved the site. The pitches were a good size and well spaced out, our pitch was level so no need of levelling ramps.
On one of our two evenings here we had dinner at the Hare and Hounds, the food was excellent, the plaice was the size of a whale and the home made turkey and ham pie was certainly home made and fantastic. There was one major difficulty over the puds which one to chose, and to top t off members get a discount of £1 off main courses. I would advise booking as it was very busy on the Friday night, I guess others are aware of how good this place is.
Useful bus service on the main road that provides good access to various parts of East Devon and into Exeter. The weather was not brilliant, typically the sun came out when we were departing! Will definitely be here again, but will not leave it so long. Thanks again to the warden team for a job well done.
Drive over drain
Disappointed to find no drive over motorhome waste drain installed since my previous
visit last year. Why? I didn't even try to lift the manhole cover as I didn't want to hurt my
back as last year. The money wasted on the idiot rebranding exercise could have paid for
proper motorhome drains at every site. Same comment applies to Godrevy Park and
Haycraft which I have also recently revisited. A further disincentive to touring in the UK.
Loverly place
Stayed for the weekend and again the site is brilliant. The wardens on arrival were great and very helpful. We have stayed at the site for the last few years at this time of year and it is always so nice when the leaves are changing colour. We will be back next year.

Just brilliant
We have just returned from a stay of 2 weeks at Putts Corner and can only say what a fantastic site this is in all respects. It was the third time we had stayed on this site and as before thoroughly enjoyed all that it has to offer. Great dog walk, immaculate facilities, a peaceful site, convenient for visiting so many places, all fairly close by....Honiton, Sidmouth, Beer, Seaton, Lyme Regis, Exeter, Exmouth, Otterton and so many others. Plenty to visit. And as for the Wardens, they really do go the extra mile. Sue and Mandy are fantastic people, nothing is too much trouble. The ONLY negative is the fact that, while the site used to have wifi, it does not have it now. It is supposed to have a hotspot by I could not locate it. I was rather miffed as, on arrival, I paid for another year’s wifi (how I managed to log on for that I will never know, even the Warden could not understand how I had, but I received an email confirming my payment! But then no more wifi!!!) Perhaps clearly displayed notices in Reception could advise there is no wifi, only a “hotspot” somewhere unknown. But apart from that, a great stay and many more to come, hopefully.
Peaceful attractive site
We visited this site as it was on the route home from a tour of South Devon.
We extended our stay as we find it so delightful.
Peaceful, no noise, very friendly and helpful wardens who were always ready to chat and give advice when asked.
The pub nearby, the Hare and Hounds was very good and we took the wardens advice and booked a table as it gets very busy.
All the beach resorts nearby are well worth visiting.
We did find that some of the campers seem to think it OK to cut across other peoples pitches to access the toilet blocks with their chemical waste and water containers. After a while it became annoying to have them pass so close to our window.
Please, if you have a dog, take it to the dog walking area, not let it use your pitch, or your neighbours' pitch, even if you clear it up, the next camper on your pitch may walk barefoot, or have children sat on the grass.
Not a lot the wardens can do, its a pity that some campers just ignore the signs. This is not the only site we notice this happening, and it is 90% owners of small dogs who don't want to walk too far.
A lovely site well situated for visiting East Devon
Only our 2nd visit to this lovely site but we fully intend to return next season. There are bus stops near the site but if like us you are in a motorhome & not towing your own car then try hiring a car from the very helpful Lovells Garage in Ottery St Mary. This site is fairly compact but the vast majority of pitches are a very good size. There are 2 facilities blocks which are well maintained & kept very clean. The efficient & friendly wardens are always around if you need anything, nothing is too much trouble for them. We can't comment on the wi-fi as we carry our own dongle which always receives a good signal. We have always found TV reception to be good except in adverse weather because of the surrounding trees. Our dog misses having a secure exercise area where he can run free but there is a nice woodland walk. Nearby pub is dog friendly (in the bar), serves good food but can get very busy so best to book.
September sunshine
We have not visited this site since 1994 and what a difference time makes.
The wardens are welcoming and friendly and are always on the go in an unobtrusive way. The site is kept tidy and clean. Facilities are superb despite some members lack of toilet training.
The site has one of the best dog walks we have come across and our spaniel gave it five tennis ball out of five. The hard standings are HARD.
One of the nice things here is the Fish and Chip service the Wardens run. Good value, large portions and very tasty.
There is some aircraft noise but it did not spoil a very enjoyable sunny September week.
Superb - what more can we say!
This is a superb site. The staff couldn't be more helpful, the facilities smart, clean and well kept.
No hesitation at all in recommending this location.

Putts corner visit
We used this site for a visit to the Donkey sanctuary , the site seemed spacious , we didn't use the toilet block or showers so cant comment on them ,the motorhome waste point is "outside" the barriers ,but you aren't in any ones way when using it, although it's still a manhole cover to lift.
there is a good range of shops in Ottery and Honiton , with a Sainsburys in Ottery and a Tesco in Honiton with a fuel station. the road to Ottery from the site is narrow in places but doable,
Satellite reception is a bit hit or miss ,but OK on aerial. there is a dog walk through the wood within the site . would we return ? YES
Perfect getaway.
The perfect site for exploring the Western end of the Jurassic coast. Not far from Sidmouth, Beer, Branscomb and Seaton, a must is a trip on the tramway from Seaton.
The pub at top of the road from site (The Hare & Hounds) is excellent and only a short walk away. Site visitors get a discount as well. This site is well worth a visit.
