Lovely site.

Spent Monday to Sunday on this beautiful site. A credit to the hard working staff who were very helpful and friendly too. Showers etc were spotlessly clean and all the surrounding pitches were well maintained. Reception sell a few basic provisions and there is a small hut with information and leaflets for local attractions. The dog walk area was rather small and hardly suitable for anything other than a "wee" walk, but there are plenty of walking trails close to the site. It is well situated for seeing the broads and Ludham bridge is a short walk away to spend time watching the comings and going on the river. There is a shop near the bridge too for souvenirs and top up groceries. The Dog pub along the road from the site sells basic pub grub.

First Visit with a Motorhome.

This is a lovely site with great wardens who are very helpful and cheerful. If you like sailing up the Broads or walking it is ideal. Great if you have a caravan. However we have a Motorhome and visited because the C&M Club recommends cycling. The site is off a busy main road ( although you can push/ cycle along the pavement ) I would only recommend it for very experienced cyclists and definitely not for young children. There are a number of cycle routes once you get off the main road - one requires cycling along the side of a farmers field (okay if the weather is good) before getting to the cycle route. We managed two good cycle routes one to Hickling Broad on quiet roads but didn't do the circular route back as it followed the main roads. Another was to the Abbey close by. My advice is do your research beforehand if you want to cycle from the site unless you are an experienced cyclist.

two weeks of rest and relaxation

My husband and I have just spent another 2 weeks on the site .This year it has had a makeover and is looking really clean and tidy. the site staff were really helpful and went that extra mile to help us with our booking . we were blessed with good weather so could visit lots of places both in land and on the coast. Ludham bridge is just a short walk away where you can sit and watch the boats go buy on the broads river. The only down side to our stay was the motor home neighbours from the midlands who were there for part of our stay who came moaning that our charcoal BBQ was to smelly and told us to stop using it. I did not argue with them and put my BBQ out, but they should read the terms and conditions ,It has not put us off though we will be back as usual next year .

Summer hols

Stayed a week for our main summer hols, very clean & well cared for site, only issue we had, on serviced pitch but very flat so the waste did not drain as well as other sites, if your staying anytime soon & staying on serviced pitch bring something to raise the waste pipe to the drain. Closest pub The Dog, nice & close to walk, great to sit outside & watch the world go by. Visit Ken's shed(side road next to the pub), for local produce (honest box - but lots of camera's!!!). Bought fresh eggs & raspberry's but loads of items to buy. The Kings Arms further up the road is very nice, great food. If you have a dog that likes the beach go to Winterton Beach very very nice.

1st time visitors

We found this site exceptional in every way. All the wardens were most friendly and helpful. Wish we'd had time to stay longer.

First time on a club site

This was our first time on a club site, have to say we were impressed by the very high standard of the site itself, maintained to a high level. Staff we met were helpful. We usually only use adult only sites but noise from kids wasn't an issue, actually good to see kids actually outside doing what kids should do, have fun in the fresh air instead of sat in front of a screen! Only slight criticism if it can be called that is the site is laid out in a rather military fashion and pitches cannot be pre booked but other than that a great site and probably will go back.

August Holiday

Just had two weeks at this lovely site. The warden team were so friendly and in our opinion the most approachable, welcoming and engaging we have ever come across within the club network, a real credit. The site is kept Immaculate. Noise only came from the occasional airplanes dogfighting as there is an airforce base nearby, but this did not spoil our visit as they were relatively infrequent. The site is well placed to visit the broads and in our opinion the onsite facilities suit couples or families with younger children. Those with teens should consider the Comer site as an alternative. The dog walk was adequate but not suitable for letting your dogs off lead, there are nice riverside walks that are within a short walking distance from the site. We would recommend the walk to How Hill to visit the gardens and tearoom. For those who like to buy local try a visit to Ken's shed. A small holder produces and sells seasonal fruit, veg & eggs. High quality food from his little shed run as an honesty box. We would revisit this site again.

Most improved club site

We have visited this site every year for the last 12 yrs, we have family living in the area, This year we stayed for 9 nights from the begining of August , and I was surprised how the site looks , the improvments to the general appearance and upkeep is amazing, The wardens never stopped working everything looks immaculate, and they are very friendly and helpful, looking forward to our next visit to a very beautiful .area with lots of things to do and see.

Lovely friendly campsite

This site is immaculate! We was blessed with fantastic weather and just felt like we was abroad with the Boules pitch and little competitions, such a lovely touch. All the wardens were very helpful but Dennis made our stay right from the start. Very accommodating to help us get a pitch near my Mums motorhome and then he kept our stay topped up with funny banter all week. Kids are keen to come back and they've only said that about Merrose farm in Cornwall because they meet their fronds every year.

Well loved site

A well loved site that someone is taking a lot of effort to bring back to its former glory. The opening of a new foot path on the banks of the river towards St Bennetts Abbey has helped walkers and bird spotters enjoy what was not available to them before. You can now walk with your dog along a safe path, watching boats and wildlife towards St Bennetts Abbey without any problem, but dog owners need to keep it clean. This and the new team has made this site one to visit.
