Well cared for site

We have just spent a couple of days on this site.(July) The assistant wardens were on when we arrived and were very helpful with local information leaflets and suggestions where to go and explained the site. The wardens were all very friendly and the other people who were staying on the site seemed happy and said hello. The site and its facilities were nice and clean. The whole area seemed quite spacious compared to some we have been on. The pitches are flat and open yet also seem to be just for you with carefully cut hedges, We had a hedge at the rear of our pitch so we where separated us from the people behind. It was a nice friendly relaxing atmosphere. We had some intermittent rain on one day but we walked on the beach in Great Yarmouth and had ice cream, luckily not raining at that time. The site drained well so the rain was no problem. Most Motorhome and Caravam Club sites I have stayed on seem to drain well. We stayed on this site over 10 years ago and it seems to have been enlarged and refurbished since. Our sat nav was of no use but the directions on line worked well.

lovely site, some of the nicest wardens encountered

One of the nicer sites on our East Anglia tour, smaller than most, and even though we were there over the weekend not many children so it was pleasantly quiet. Pub just outside site, bus stop as well, village of Ludham was a good 35 minute walk, and had a general store/PO, pub and decent butcher. Plenty of dog walking from site but generally best on lead because of the numerous hidden waterways and long grass (adder season) which made it such a shame that the tiny dog walk onsite was onlead and pitifully inadequate, probably one of the smallest dog walks we've seen on the network up to now. The next village is Horning, very pretty and you can have a boat trip on the Broads. Very helpful wardens and the amenities block is the usual club standard of clean but dated showers with those awful blue nylon shower curtains. Unless it is changed save your money and dont bother with the fish and chips from the food van, the worst we have ever had, threw most of it away, a waste of nearly £14, greasy batter, watery fish and brown spotted chips. Great pitches with ample grass area around the hardstandings, first time in 10 days that we didnt have to use levellers

Comment from the Club:

Thank you for your review and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay, and all the site has to offer. With regards to the fish and chips from the onsite food vendor, the owner of the business has assured The Club that he always provides quality food, previously receiving awards for his fish and chips – which many members have enjoyed . The vendor has also assured the Club that he is always happy to address any concerns or complaints in person, with customers - should they wish to do so. We hope this has adequately addressed the issues raised in your review.

Lovely site

I spent 10 days on this lovely site from 23 June. Upon arrival I was greeted by name as the warden saw my registration plate from reception, so friendly and welcoming. The site is immaculate with beautiful flowers surrounding the reception area and not too large with easy access to good dog walking straight from the site entrance. I shall certainly be back!

Excellant Site

This is the second time we have stayed on this site, we found it neat and tidy, the toilet and shower facilities were of a very high standard, well looked after by the staff on site. The wardens were very pleasant and approachable, always time for a chat, nice to see faces from last year. I guess a comment that summed it all up for me was when talking about how well the site was kept the lady commented "well we're caravanners and we like to think we keep the site as we would like find it" Great work folks, see you next year!!

EXCELLENCE AGAIN

We came back again and were not disappointed by this site. The wardens are really lovely, the site is immaculate and the area just great. Beware walking in the dark to and from the Dog Inn but still worth going to and so close to the site. Showers and toilets were immaculate at all times of the day and so were the grounds, which is all down to the wardens as campers can be messy folk! We met up with friends and had a super time, visited the Fairhaven Water Gardens again and enjoyed a grand afternoon tea. We had three nights this time because we forgot there was a bank holiday and half term so could not get in for the Sunday night. Note to self next time book earlier!

A Great Place to Stay, We'll Definitely Be Back!

This site is in such a lovely location, it's well presented, clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Toilets/washrooms couldn't be faulted; there are even service toilets for when the main toilets are being cleaned. We liked it so much we extended our stay by 3 nights. It's ideally located with Wroxham, Horning and Potter Heigham all within a short drive where you can hire boats or have a bite to eat and a beverage or two at the side of the broads. There is also a bus stop across the road from the site. The site itself is a stones throw away from Ludham bridge where you can see the boats at the moorings. There's a shop at the side of the river selling many things (it's like a Tardis) and a cafe attached that I can highly recommend especially the cooked breakfast for days when you just don't want to cook in your van. On the subject of food, I can also recommend the Kings Arms in Ludham, dog friendly, lovely food and friendly staff. I have to mention that my two dogs loved the holiday too (they have their way of telling me), the dog walking area on site isn't very big however, this wasn't a problem as there are so many areas to walk your dogs nearby. I would also recommend a visit to How Hill for anyone who has a dog, there is a great open space there and if you time it right, you can have the place to yourself. My dogs loved running off the lead undisturbed, as it's not near any busy roads. The roads to How Hill are one track so I wouldn't go in your motorhomes; the passing places are few and small. I'm sure anyone visiting this site will have a great holiday just like we did.

This was..........

............. our first visit to this site and it certainly WON'T be the last!! The friendly welcome and excellent facilities were very much appreciated at the end of a week's tour in our Campervan which took in Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire. We can only echo and confirm the words of others who have also complemented its extremely high standard. Thank you to all the staff and we hope to see you again in the not too distant future.
