Friendly welcome but were disappointed when told the bottom half of the site was closed due to it being close to the end of the season. Not really sure why this would be. The lower toilet block was still open which meant a long trek for a shower as we now refuse you use the top toilet block as it is not fit for purpose. It is truly awful and the club should be ashamed as it has needed refurbishment for years!! The road can be a bit noisy early in the morning but really isn't that bad and the setting is so lovely it is easy to forgive! Good base for lovely Winchester with a good bus service and local park and rides (don't try to drive in to Winchester as parking is difficult). The entrance to the site from the roundabout is a bit tricky and easy to miss. We will return as we have family in Winchester but can not understand why the club appear to have no interest in upgrading the facilities. The wardens must become very disheartened as just about all of the comments in the visitors book mention the dreadful toilet block. Come on CC, do the right thing!
