Beautiful Site!!

Beautiful Site. Very clean and tidy. Wardens lovely and polite. Fish & chips lovely but a bit expensive. Very relaxing stay wish we had stayed longer.

Gower friendly site

Our first visit to this site and not disappointed by either the location, cleanliness nor the helpfulness of the wardens.....all excellent. Ideally placed for visiting all places on the Gower as well as Swansea and all that has to offer. Food stores and fuel readily available close by and the M4 within 5 minutes of the site given friendly traffic lights. Due to circumstances we'd had to shorten our visit to this site by 2 days so we will return to grab more of the Gower attractions and all it has to offer.

Another great holiday

Well having returned from my third annual trip to this site another great holiday. The weather could have been better but this didn't spoil my time away. I did have a more limited choice of hardstanding pitches than previous visits but this wasn't an issue. Overall for my needs the best site I have ever encountered! The wardens who were here on a previous stay were friendly and the facilities immaculate at all times which is a credit to their commitment. This site is not in the most picturesque part of Gower but for ease of access it cannot be faulted and I certainly wouldn't want to tow to locations further south as roads are restricted.  This is an excellent choice of sites catering for those with dog walking needs and the recreation field at the back is superb.  The layout and space between pitches is excellent and the site is maintained to a very high standard.  I have always been reluctant to review this site in fear that it may become more popular and I have always found the other caravan and motorhome users to be very friendly. Thank you for a really lovely stay. Faultless if not even with a lack of sunshine! Hope to return later this year.

Great location

A good location for discovering the gower peninsula and the cities of Cardiff and swansea. Bring your bikes, great cycle routes to the mumbles and an easy ride to the train station for Cardiff,  Swansea and tenby. Not great for a play area, although there is a massive field available it is through 2 gates and we felt too far for our 10 year old to go alone. Not much for the kids to do and in half term week it was mainly full of older couples.

Nice place to visit and close to te M4

Another first class CC site with all the high standard facilities we would expect to find. Staff where very friendly and helpful. Shop has basic needs, not a lot of selection or range of products. There is however a Tesco express 10 minute walk away. Handy having a dog walk and a dog friendly common next door to the site, this is accessed though a locked gate from the site, you will be given a key on arrival. Pitches are well spread with limited hard standings and double the normal amount of grass standings. The village is a 15 minute walk, limited number of shops, but the welcome to Gower pub well worth a visit. Overall the site was well established, facilities very good and catered for all. I have however two complaints, having a motor home I prefer to park on a hard standing, on this visit the only sites available was on grass, I'm happy to accept grass if all others are full, what was annoying was the number of empty hard standings with pitch taken on them. Nobody parked on these pitches the length of time we where there. Secondly you get a fob to operate the gate after you have selected a pitch, we where let onto the site, found a pitch and then proceeded to fill up with water, this was located just back from the exit gate. Not yet been given a fob and on a one way system we had to get a warden to let us out and back in again? I think they should have the same policy as their Brecon site, fob to get in and automatic opening when you leave. Leaving on a positive note, wardens hoped we enjoyed our stay (we did) and asked us to return again (we will) great all round CC site.

Great time

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Gowerton site. The directions were really good and got us there easily from the M4. The site is clean, tidy and very well managed. We chose to be next to the dog walking area as we have 2 dogs and it was easy to get them to the walk without trailing over the whole site. The railway was behind the dog walk and we hardly heard it from our pitch. The showers and toilets were clean and never too busy and other campers were friendly. Many people had their dogs with them and all of them came past us to get to the walk but there was never any problems. Being new to this game we were uncertain if the rules to dogs on leads was as strict as in the book as our dogs never go far from our sides, but the warden did ask another group to put their dogs on leads so we did with ours too. The site is in a good spot to get to all the places we wanted to visit on our stay and we would not hesitate to return for another happy and restful stay. Thank you Gowerton staff.

Gowerton site has a good location and is well managed

The site was nearly full when we arrived but did not appear crowded, the pitches are well positioned and spaced out. The site was very tidy and the shower blocks were clean and well kept/ The welcome at reception was very pleasant despite it being late afternoon of a busy day. Much to our surprise there were always vacant showers or very short wait in the morning. The location provides good access from and to the M4, the centre of Swansea and of course to the many bays and beaches on the Gower. Most bays had excellent cafes and sometimes restaurants which made walking along the coastal path very enjoyable! The main line train from Cardiff and Swansea all stop at Gowerton station which is a bout a mile away and offers trips to Carmarthen and Milford Haven at a frequency of about twice an hour. It was a good seven days spent in a pleasant site in good surroundings.
