Burrs country park c/c site

We use this site quite a bit and always find it spotless, the wardens are always of good cheer, and is good for the market,to be fair I carn`t think of anything to fault Burrs, would recommend this site,I was told of Burrs some years ago and have been back every year some times more than once a year, the only sad point is the guy who recommended the site to me ( don`t know his name) has sadly died.Just been again will return soon. Easter weekend

Nice site, spoiled by the lack of checking / cleaning on the Easter Sunday. The gents toilet block was in a very dirty / wet condition by the Easter Sunday evening. Someone could of slipped over in the gents, as there was water every where, there was no warning signs either!! The block was in worse condition on the Bank Holiday morning, which was a let down, as we departed the site first thing after spending 3 nights at the site. The entrance / drive into the site was not very well sign posted either, specially when you get to the bridge. Very narrow also, so be careful. The steam trains were a nice feature, also a nice way to see the local area. Don't think we would come back.

Burrs

This was my very first stay at a Club Site, coupled with my second outing of the MoHo. Facilities and location ideal for me as staying for one night en-route to Wales. Handy location for dog walking just outside the site. Friendly neighbours who helped me out with EHU too. My only criticism (not club related) on the morning of departure (it was raining) I was somewhat surprised to be greeted heading back onto site by a MoHo leaving early with it's wastewater being deposited on the site exit. The facilities had service point. Definitely would go back and spend extra days exploring the area and not just a fleeting visit.

Easter weekend

Arrived on the Good Friday, was aloud to check in before 12PM which was nice. Staff upon check in were nice and friendly. Overall the site was clean and well kept, how ever this was let down on Easter Sunday when the toilet block/ showers got into a dirty wet state by the Easter Sunday afternoon. The site was full, so with over 60 pitches using the toilet blocks, I feel these should of been checked on a regular basis. We didn't see any staff members either on the Easter Sunday. This lead to the shower stalls being dirty on the following Bank Holiday Monday morning which tarnished our stay as we left later the same day. Nice feature was the train line, old steam / diesel locomotives pass the site on a regular basis. We used this service on the Saturday, taking the steam train the full length of the line, getting off at the Bury stop. There was a great outside/ indoor market selling local and fresh produce.

Burrs

Can't fault the site itself - well maintained clean and tidy - with good views of passing trains (if that's your thing!!) If you like a lie in - be aware that work start at 0900 each week day on the new pitches - so some minor noise issue - I'm up well before - but others may moan!! Bury a functional town - shopping and leisure facilities - we enjoyed a drive over to Skipton - well worth it …lovely town and castle - also did Trafford Centre - shopping All in all a pleasant Easter trip.

Easter break spoiled by warden

Not good with children as the warden just looks for reasons to complain about them my 14yr old couldn't use a hover board "health & safety" it does 5 mph but you can go round the site on bikes and scooters at any speed but site is spotless . It's would be good if the warden would lighten up a bit a kids ball went over the fence from the pub into a new pitch area and he wouldn't Let him get it back He was about 9

Easter Break

Lovely site, ruined by the on site warden, picking on the kids, going the wrong way round on their bikes!!! We was told off several times for petty reasons, like standing on a gravel pitch with our dog, walking to our friends pitch I was told not to exercise my dog!!!! We would never do this, it was constant and ruined our break away!!!! Won't be coming back.....

Very good site

The site wardens and staff very welcoming and all very friendly. Showers very well looked after as well as rest of site . Grass well looked after and kept well cut, no litter at all left in any bins for longer than a day. Location and the attached park make it a great site , not forgetting the Steam Train. We will be back. Thanks for a great week .

Highly Recommended

Had a great week here. Immaculate site superbly positioned to watch the steam trains go past. Easy travel into Manchester City centre via bus to Bury and then tram (combined day ticket for £6.70). Lots to see and do in Manchester, and from the site there is easy access to many interesting local towns and villages such as Ramsbottom and Hebden Bridge. For retail therapy you can't beat the Trafford Centre, which is only 20 minutes away by car. We could easily have stayed longer but will just have to go back another time.
