What a View CL is basic but the location, with its access to public footpaths is fantastic.
You can walk for miles around the beautiful Dorset Countryside. Our dog loved it!
The pitches are large with a fantastic vista.
If you want to observe the night skies then this is the place for you.
Tranquil and unspoilt. Very little light pollution and only the sounds of owls. You will see bats, deer and if you get up early enough you might even see a Hare.
Very friendly hosts.
Escape to the country.
A great CL
Certainly lives up to the name!
We spent a wonderful three nights here in late April, a really lovely spot to stay. Easy to find and well signed off the road to the caravan field, great communication from the owners and a nice welcome. We enjoyed many walks across tracks and fields, all of which were very well sign posted, also a walk into Sturminster Newton and a lovely lunch at once of the cafes, Stur of the Moment. A site we will be returning to again.

What a view
Really does live up to the name’what a view’ had a great few days here , near to sturminster Newton and lots of good walks , well set out , will definitely be back
Idyllic
We enjoyed 4 fantastic days on this site. The view certainly does take your breath away - especially in the evening with the sun setting as the hot air balloons sail in the distance. Very peaceful despite the pitches being snug when fully occupied. Very well maintained and a perfect location for cycling and walking. Certainly a site that we will highly recommend and hopefully return to in the future.
It lives up to its name!
I arrived on a Saturday afternoon, and left on the Monday morning. I was blessed with reasonable weather, and the most fantastic sunset on the Saturday. Completely stunning!
The CL is well off the road, through the farm yard, and down a track. The pitches are clearly labelled and set up with EHU and water. Recycling bins are at the gate, along with CDP.
I met up with the owners on the Sunday, really lovely folk, very welcoming. By that time the weather was a little more dull, so the view over to Alfred's tower wasn't as clear as it had been, but even so...
I would definitely stay here again. It really is a gorgeous stop over.

Peaceful location close to lots of walks and cycling
We stayed here for two nights in July 2021. It was slightly tricky to find the entrance, but once through the farmyard the signage was excellent. The views really are amazing and there is absolutely no road noise at all. Local walk leaflets are provided as well as great recycling facilities. We were allocated our pitch at the point of booking. Space feels a little confined and you are definitely fairly close to your neighbours. However, no one is in front of you giving uninterrupted views for miles around. Access is across the grassy field but wasn’t an issue for us in our campervan. EHU was in place but ready for use when we stayed. This will be a great addition. We walked into Sturminster Newton on easily accessed footpaths. The farm is on a cycle route and also 10 minutes away by bike from The Bull Tavern where we had a good evening meal. The owner visits each evening and is friendly and helpful. A deposit and final payment can be made vis BACS which we find very convenient. Will be visiting again as the cycling is great and the views are very special.
A well named site
This site was ideal for us. Nice and quiet with excellent views and walks around the area.
As others have said, the location is wonderful sunsets - assuming the weather permits!
Facilities are perfectly fine for people with on-board loos.
Whilst we were there, electric hookups were being introduced which was well timed for us as our unit developed a gas leak
Very friendly people although the owners were away when we visited.
We look forward to visiting again!

The perfect wind down spot
Sometimes you go to a site and you know you will return, and Whataview is just such a place! Terri was very welcoming, the site is extremely peaceful, with a view to match the site’s name. Glorious sunsets and a wonderful dark night sky spot.
It is within walking distance of Sturminster Newton and beautiful walks and bike rides to be tried in the area. No doubt we will be back (please!).

Peace and tranquillity perfect CL
If you want hustle and bustle this site is not for you
however if like me you want peace quiet and breathtaking views then this is about as perfect as it gets. Martin and Terri and friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area .There are walks from the site without the need to walk on a busy road which is always a plus the walk into Sturminster Newton is picturesque and easy and I can recommend a pit stop at The Bull public house which was incredibly dog friendly we didn’t eat there although the food looked good. Back to the site though it’s all about the views it feels as if you are literally in the middle of nowhere with the most amazing sunsets (and probably sun rises ). I would definitely recommend This will definitely become a favourite and we will be back
Stunning location.
Just the most beautiful views from this site. Definitely lives up to its name. There are numerous great walks straight from the field - long and short. At the moment no electric although owners are just waiting for this to be connected, so it'll be even better. Owners so friendly and helpful. You can also order cheese from their farm which they'll drop off the next day! Can't wait to return to the idyllic, tranquil site.
