Tranquil with beautiful views

This was our first time of visiting this site and we were not disappointed... for location purposes, it was 10 minutes' drive from Alnwick (buy your £1 parking disc at the car parks or at the Post Office or one of the many shops in the town that sell them) and very close to Alnmouth train station for trips further afield. But the photo on the club website does not do justice to the lovely views available from the site, and Michael, the farmer, could not have been more friendly or willing to talk about the wildlife in the area. We spent almost a whole day in Alnwick Gardens (you can upgrade your ticket to allow access all year round for only a couple of £s more) and had also prebooked to see an evening concert at the beautifully renovated Alnwick Playhouse. For fans of craft beer or gin, try the real ale place 'The Ale Gate' for a wide range of beer and speciality gins, friendly staff and very good value prices! We also took a 1.5 hour cruise out from Seahouses to the Farne Islands with Serenity and were impressed at how attentive they were, constantly moving round the boat to chat to us about the area, wildlife and history of the Farne Islands. They mentioned that in summer they do a 4 hour cruise to Lindisfarne as that is the best way to see the island ie from the sea. We will definitely be back to enjoy that cruise and also the peacefulness of this beautifully kept caravan site. We cannot recommend this site highly enough.
