Lovely peaceful basic CL. Very friendly owners. Although the field is sloping we were sited at the bottom and that was level. We didn't bother with EHU but it would have needed very long cable across field. Water/refuse and loo-emptying all sited near the entrance gate, which is protected with a combination lock.
The pub is a good 20 min walk along a narrow lane without any pedestrian ways. We took the M/H up and it was possible to park in the car park. Pub serves real ale and the food isn't cheap but was high quality, service was slow when we went although they weren't busy.
The CL is an excellent base for visiting the NT properties nearby.
A place to unwind
We have just returned from a 3 night stay here. We arrived and set up on a field next to Mrs Vicary's house. There are electric hookups so we were on grid very quickly. The field slopes so levellers are a must.
The views are lovely over the Bough Beech reservoir. The site is on a minor road so there is little noise. As we have a motorhome we did a couple of good walks. One way to Emmett's Garden (National Trust) in Ide Hill (3.2 miles) and Hever Castle (3.1 miles) Hever is a much flatter walk.
The family were very welcoming and the site is well maintained. We would not hesitate to stay here again if in the area.
Nice little site
This is a very pleasant site where we spent 2 nights. Well looked after and a friendly welcome (and nice to meet the owners' children!). Unlike some other reviewers we weren't bothered by traffic noise. The lane is quite narrow, but so are all the other roads around here - we came from M25 westbound down B2042 and down the lane from the north, not the route recommended in the book, and the B road was harder work than the lane. Good basic facilities. A pretty steep slope at the top of the field, where the hookups are; level at the bottom where we pitched but then you might need a long lead, the owners did offer an extra lead if needed but ours was just long enough.
Disappointing
Very disappointed with site, it gives the indication that it overlooks the resovior which it does not. Also the lane is very busy and noisy not the peace and quiet we expected . The owner was indeed very friendly and welcoming and facilities were very good.
Regular get away
Just been back for another visit and everything is as good as before. This has now turned into one of our regular "get away from the city" sites with a friendly welcome and the ability just soak up the country side.
Easter break
Really lovely site if you want peace and tranquility. There is a pub 20 minutes walk away ( turn left ) and is worth the trip. Must book tables at Weekends. Dog friendly as well.
As others have said there is a slight slope but nothing to worry about. All fenced in so dogs are not a problem and can wonder freely off the lead.
Many thanks and we will be back soon.
The Normans
Just back from a wonderful relaxing break here, clean and peaceful site in the most beautiful location, owners friendly and welcoming ,ground slight sloping but nothing to worry about, we loved the walking round here, plenty of National Trust properties if you haven't been go to Chartwell it is awesome, We wholeheartedly recommend this site if you would like a peaceful break.A+++++++++
Homely CL
We stayed on this CL for 6 nights in August. It is located in a beautiful area with excellent walks on Public Footpaths. Convenient for Sevenoaks and a number of National Trust properties and a RSPB reserve. The owner is very friendly with a young family. The site is quite sloped but levelling blocks are provided. A long lead would be needed for one or two of the pitches.
Campervan's first outing
We stayed here two nights, one at either end of a loop we did at the beginning of May half term. What a beautiful area - fabulous (dog) walks nearby, pretty lanes and villages and loads of lovely NT sites - eg Penshurst Place for anyone wanting to catch a bit of Wolf Hall. We found it easy to find with an old fashioned map! Very friendly welcome by the family. We pitched both times at the bottom of the site next to the field with lapwings courting all evening and owls at night. Great first outing in the mini camper. Definitely recommend.

A Very Nice Find
This is a lovely little CL. Quite sloping as mentioned though, to 3 of the 5 pitches. A very warm welcome from the owner and her 3 children. Electric points are at the top of the field (on the sloping bit). Recycling of glass. TV is good. 4G on phone on O2 but only 3G on iPad (same network). Loads to do in the area, bundles of National Trust. I was also lucky enough to watch plenty of wildlife in and around. There is no pub within walking distance, or stores. Easy to find if you Google Map it beforehand. I was not disturbed at all by the traffic on the lane, which didn't seem that bad. There is a distant noise from planes in and out of Gatwick, again nothing to bother me. I am looking forward to a return visit.
