Lovely & Relaxing

We arrived on the 4th September to this lovely site and we were blessed with great weather . The site has a amazing view and everything was to a high standard . The owner greeted us on arrival and after that we were left to our own devises which we like . Great dog work just off the caravan site so this pleased me to. Cowslip cottage was very central for lots of places to visit and supermarkets shops etc only just a mile or so from the site . We shall definitely return Thank You

Return visit

We have just returned from a lovely 8 night stay at Cowslip Cottage. Once again we had a very warm welcome from the owners, Adoree and Mike. This was our second visit and we have booked for next year. This is a lovely cl with beautiful views across the countryside. The washroom and laundry facilities are also excellent. There is a local bus approximately 15-20 minutes walk that will take you into Weymouth. There is also another bus via Radipole (maybe 25-30 minutes walk) that will take you to Dorchester and other places. We are in a motorhome so mostly walked into Weymouth as there are three routes you can take and for keen walkers this takes about 40 minutes. We enjoyed the walk via Duck Alley, through Radipole and up onto the main road and down through Lodmoor Park - this takes you to the Bowleaze end of Weymouth Bay and there is a lovely cafe on the beach where you can enjoy a seafood snack. If you go this way you can also find a Lidl, Aldi and Sainsbury`s nearby. There are two pubs within walking distance. We love this site and agree with other reviewers that it is one of the best!

Excellent

Stayed from Wednesday 18th August and Thursday 19th August. Best place me and the wife have ever stayed on. Spotless, super clean and lovely owners. Can not say enough about how peaceful and beautiful this site is. Well done to the owners, 5 Stars. Mr and Mrs Harvey

Good shower facilities

If all you’re bothered about is a clean shower block then this would be ok. We thought the approach to the site via a built up area, busy housing estate and unsightly electricity pylons was off-putting. It didn’t feel like we were on holiday at all. The site and grass was well maintained and pitching up was easy enough though. Dogs were allowed to run free on the site and often came on to our pitch (one cocked it’s leg up on our Cadac 😝). Location-wise there was nowhere really nice to walk or cycle to along the (quite busy during the day) road directly outside and so we had to drive everywhere. The owner also has a small aviary and we don’t like to see birds caged. All-in-all, not for us.

A gem of a site

Loved this site so so very much. Greeting from owners very welcoming, kind and friendly. Views across the fields peaceful and full of character. Washing Facilities stunning. Local bus to Weymouth a short walk away along the road. Loved the sandy beach at Weymouth and the walk along the promenade. Look out for the coastal walk from East Fleet and visit Moonfleet Manor for a welcoming coffee and a bite to eat for non residents. Walking boots recommended as some areas were a bit muddy and slippery in places. Lovely break had by all

An excellent weekend retreat

We have just enjoyed a long weekend break at Cowslip Cottage having travelled down from Salisbury. Nothing more to add to previous comments as this is a fantastic site and very welcoming. Look forward to coming back again.

Can't Really Add Anything

I planned on reviewing this Cl soon after we left. Unfortunately, everything that I wanted to say has already been said. The CL is immaculate and the owners very welcoming. The site is on a bit of a slope and levelling will almost certainly be needed but there is a plentiful supply of good levelling blocks available to borrow. The grass is regularly mown and the clippings collected. Because of Covid the toilet and showers are not in use this year but we were advised of this before we visited. There are hand sanitiser sprays and signage adjacent to the water taps, WC emptying point, each EHU and the waste bins. Would we visit again? Yes, most certainly.

Lovely stay here!

We have just spent 8 nights at Cowslip Cottage and would like to say a very big thank you to Adoree and her husband Mike. We were greeted on arrival by Adoree and were made to feel very welcome right from the beginning of our stay - it was lovely. We walked into Weymouth from the site as we have a motorhome - there is a good bus service a short 20 minute walk if you prefer. The site itself is beautiful with lovely views of the open countryside. Washroom facilities weren`t open this time due to Covid but it did not affect our stay at all. We will be going back.
