comments of a previuous review

we have stayed at this excellent CL at varying times of the year for several years and have pitched on every grass pitch during our stays. I am writing this in response to some unfair comments in a previous review, for the following reasons:- There is a good view from every pitch as the caravans are well spaced. The country road that passes the site can be busy during the day as it serves several agricultural establishments in the area but there is very little traffic during the evening or at night. with regards to the electricity our 'van has central heating, microwave, hairdryer and electric ring on the cooker etc. and yet on average the cost rarely exceeds £1 per night. Surely you only pay for what youuse ! I do however have one serious complaint that drastically reduces our enjoyment of staying at this CL and that is that when Mr Brundle mows the grass he does not keep the lines straight !!! Keep up the good work .

Watch the electricity

We stayed in July 2014 in beautiful weather. Very handy for Portsmouth, Chichester, Bognor, Worthing and Brighton. If you get the right pitch adjacent to the field you have a great countryside view, unfortunately those pitches were full and blocked our view. Our friends were on a pitch next to a very busy country road which did disturb them. You pay for any electricity with pre paid cards and we used over £2.00 a night in the height of summer so I wouldn't like to think how much it would be when you needed heat and lighting in the colder/darker months.

Great holiday

Great CL,we had a great weeks holiday. Didn't like the card electric system would sooner pay in site fee. Nice village Barnham, with railway station to get around if needed. Great fishing lake. We would visit this site again.

Pitch Perfect

Everything about this CL denotes quality. Plenty of room on a spacious well kept field. Views all round; we looked out over a field of half a dozen inquisitive cows and a small flock of sheep. Excellent facilities and emptying point, nearby bus stop, and the Trading Post in Barnham has everything one could possibly need. 'Pay as you go' card system for electricity is ideal, infinitely better than being included in the site fees where one pays for it, use it or not. The site owners were welcoming and charming, we even received a free first voucher for the electricity meter. All in all very impressive.

Lovely farm site

We had a lovely May Bank Holiday weekend at Choller Farm. The weather was fine so we enjoyed the views across the fields - including watching a calf being born! The shower and WC facilities were good. The only 'gripe' were the cards for the electricity which had to be got from the farm and plugged in to get power a £1 at a time. It would be preferable to pay another £2 (making £12) and get electricity included. We will be back though.

First (foggy) night out in my motorhome

First night out in my motorhome. Unfortunatley thick fog put paid to any views. Site was clean and secure(coded gate) and easily accessible(28' Arapahoe!) Toilets clean. Got a complimentary £1 electic card, which was more than enough for the night(Fridge, Boiler, TV, Lighting and Record player used). Free range eggs available to buy on site. Walked into nearby town, about 2o minutes, for a meal in the "Passage to India", where the food was wonderful and not extortionately priced. Looking forward to another visit where, hopefully, the views will be revealed.

We found this site very quite and peaceful. You have a great base to go a vist the castle and brighton to name only a few. We stayed when we had the meteor shower which of course was stunning as there were no lights. The grass was well maintained and great for the littleones to run around on.

Visit in June 2013

Very well maintained site; grass cut each friday and cuttings picked-up. Owners very welcoming and helpful. Sadly, pub in Walberton closed (6/13) but good pub and excellent butcher just under railway bridge in Barnham. In 17 nights £11 more than covered the electric. Working farm so expect some bangs and clatters. Site well placed for exploring the county; Climping beach excellent for running a dog. Altogether, highly recommended.

A good time had by us all!

My family and I spent the May 2013 half term holiday on this site and we had a great time. The welcome was warm and friendly and everyone was very helpful. We had a grass pitch and found that £3.00 of electric was fine for the four days we were there although we were only running a few lights and a fridge, the toilets and showers were clean and totally adequate for the site. We took our bikes and didn't need to move our motorhome as Barnham station was only 0.7miles away from the site. We accessed Arundel, Portsmouth and Brighton by train and had some great days out. The local Chinese takeaway even delivered to the site and the lady in the gift shop in Barnham was a font of knowledge for local tourist attractions. Barnham has a small co-op for essentials but we didn't find a supermarket which was local. Everyone in Barnham was really friendly and helpful and we would love to have another break there to see even more of the area that we didn't have time to see.
