Ashby Lane Farm

We stayed at Ashby Lane Farm for 3 weeks. The field is very large, and Gary keeps it very well mowed with all cuttings removed. It’s nice that the other part of the field has been left as a wildflower meadow. The site itself is very quiet, although there is the background hum of traffic from the main road, although this is distant and wasn’t a problem. The site is immaculate, each pitch has its own EHU and whilst there is only one tap between two pitches, when we did have neighbours, we used a splitter so that we could both have serviced pitches. Electricity cost approximately £2.15 extra per night, for just lights, TV and appliances, we didn’t have the heating on.
It would be good to have a long hosepipe that reached from the water tap to the black waste disposal point. Without a hosepipe you have to go backwards and forwards to rinse and empty the cartridge and it would help to keep the disposal point clean and hygienic. Also, just a laminated sheet of local information would be useful.
Our fridge control panel had broken before we left, and Gary kindly agreed that we could have the replacement part from Germany delivered to the site. All would have been well if UPS had managed to deliver to the correct farm, not the one a mile up the road! Anne was very kind and helpful in trying to track it down for us.
The highlight of the site for us was putting up our birdfeeders and watching the parent woodpecker feeding the chick each morning.
The best places we visited were the Midland Motor Museum in Coventry, NT Stoneywell, Coventry Cathedral , Tropical Birdland and Stoneleigh Abbey. Due to the weather, we didn’t get out walking as much as we’d have liked, but we still had a good time.
Best pub with amazing food is the Swan Inn at Ullesthorpe!
Nice site
Very secure site with electrical gates. Very large field with shared tap between 2 pitches, each pitch is marked which makes the pitches quiet close together along one side of the field which does make emptying your toilet waste a long walk. Electric is also metered at current price.
Fabulous CL
Fantastic site, perfect for visiting Uni students in Leicester. Level, spacious, countryside views much better value than other sites locally. Even the dog made a new friend. Secured gated access photo does not do the site justice will be back. Highly recommend.

Fantastic cl. Peaceful and super friendly.
We stayed here for a week while visiting relatives nearby. The site is a huge beautifully manicured field. The gate entry system beats anything we’ve seen elsewhere. Each pitch has electrics and water. Masses of room to spread out. We’ll be back.
Highly recommended!

Fabulous First week out of lockdown
Absolutely super site. Clean. Well manicured lawns. Easy access. Secure gate. Great waste recycling and rubbish disposal and toilet emptying facilities. Pitches level and well spaced. One tap between two pitches on each pitch which enabled us to use a hose splitter and hook up as a super pitch. Grey waste into hedgerow. Lovely welcome and great communication from the owners. Highly recommended.
Excellent CL
Stayed for 3 nights while visiting relatives nearby. Easy access (no problems with electric gate), friendly welcome, level ground, dog walk on site, water point on every pitch, will definitely use again.
Beautiful site
This is a fantastic site with lots of room great especially if you have kids. The field is level with water taps and electric shared between two pitches. The pitches have been positioned well to get the evening sun. Beautiful views over farm land, the owners are very friendly and welcomed us upon arrival. There are pubs within walking distance although some of the walk is along a road. Slight road noise on the site but this isn’t an issue for us and it stops over night and at weekends. We’ll definitely visit again.

Excellent CL
My wife and I have recently stayed at Ashby Lane Farm site in Leicestershire. The CL is sited on one of the most glorious positions in a flat, level field adjacent to the farmhouse belonging to the family who own the farm. The pitches are well spaced and clearly numbered with all the power points and fresh water taps easily accessible. The waste bins for all types of waste are positioned for easy access yet far enough away to be discreet. Likewise the chemical and grey water waste can be disposed of very efficiently.
The whole farm is beautifully kept and the owners are only too willing to help you and ensure your stay is all you would wish it to be.
We highly recommend this excellent location and we will certainly be returning, we hope, for many years to come.
