Why is it when trying to book certain sites all the weekends are full !!!

Wait until a bit nearer the time and chances are they’ll be some cancellations.

Probably because weekends are the only chance some folk have to get out in their vans.

The answer is to maybe book earlier but the change of booking system with the introduction of deposits may possibly change things in future. We'll see.

Yes, found this myself a few days ago but a few days later managed to find availability..... it was for 18 - 21st March...

I then realised a lot of sites only open the week before so was probably due to many folk eager to get away..... & have booked pre new system.....

Keep checking, I'm sure something will turn up...

Depends when and where you want to book?, as for the last couple of years it has  been possible to book a pitch up to twelve months in advance and as you have noticed those who want weekends after working all week ,book well in advance

I suppose some sites are more popular as weekend destinations? For example I don't suppose many people would travel from the mainland to visit Southlands for a weekend because of the cost of the ferry. Somewhere like Chatsworth would be popular as its relatively near to a large area of population. There will be people that, whilst maybe having a couple of longer holidays in the year will in the main use weeks as their main time away, especially if working. As mentioned the new booking system may well ease the pressure?

Maybe it is something to do with the fact most people work Monday to Friday and find weekends the only time they can go away? Is this going to be another ‘it’s not fair…..’ thread…..? Yes, it is annoying when the location you want on the weekend you are free is booked however there are other sites outside the club network, try one, you might be pleasantly surprised!

I found that availability for a three night mid-week break was a bit lacking, so it isn't just weekends.

Posted on 17/02/2022 09:34

It all depends on the popularity of the sitewink

I would question "most people  work Monday to Friday" I certainly didn't  and we now live in a much more 24 7 society. I suspect a lot of the weekenders do it because they want not need. However it was never an issue for us as my late wife on whom most preparation fell thought it was much trouble as a fortnight hence we rarely  did it even when I got the chance.
