Just  read  that  "Doc"  Romanes,  Eye  Surgeon  &   Long  Time  Traction  engine  man  has  died  aged  97

A  true  gentleman  &  willing  to  pass  on  his  wisdom  on  a  variety  of  subjects  and  a  lot  of  it  with  a  twinkling  gleam  in  his  eye,  and  a  touch  of  sauciness  in  his  talk  !  He  was  in  at  the  inception  of  the  Traction  Engine  Club,  as  it  was  originally  called,  &  proud  to  show  off  his  badge  wearing  Membership  No  2  mounted  on  his  engine.

He  was  also  one  of  those  medics  who  flew  into  Romania  etc,  after  the  break  up  of  U. S. S. R.  to  line  up  patients  on  the  aircraft  loading  steps,  perform  eye  surgery,  &  see  the  results  walk  out  of  the  rear  into  the  clear  future.

Thank  you  "Doc"  Rest  In  Piece  Old  Friend.
