If anyone was born to play Miss Jean Brodie it was Maggie.

She was an extraordinarily gifted actress and would probably have made reading the phone directory interesting.

Oh how I agree.  I will never forget "Jean Brodie" quoting from the Lady of Shallot or her heart rending soliliquy in front of her class later on in the film when she realises that she may at last, be forced to leave  Marsha Blaine and her beloved teaching post.

I think the first thing that I saw her in was Jean Brodie and I have been a fan ever since. A brilliant actor and a very entertaining person, a hard act to follow. So sad to hear this news.
