What have they done?

Well, I waited until it went live. Where do l start ? UTTER PANTS best describes my experience.  The queuing system failed to direct me where I wanted to go, I ran out of battery trying to search CLs and to cap it my wife's smart phone "is not compatible with the CAMC app ". sealed

Agreed, don't press the book site button...

I actually got in after 10 mins using the 'new' app...I could see my membership details, my old bookings etc...browse sites... yes, really....

then I tried a dummy booking....entered a few details about the van, number of people.....then zap...goodbye...after just a couple of minutes, not the 20 I should apparently get...

hmmmm, not good.

Thanks for that tip YT. I Deleted User old App, loaded new App, and at least it now shows our Membership cards.

How simple would it have been to send an email to the Membership asking them to do thisšŸ¤·‍ā™€ļø

You can still look for CLs, read the reviews for each CL. Just donā€™t click on the red ā€œsearch and bookā€ button, but scroll further down and pick your Country, then the Area/County, then the individual CL.

Orā€¦..use search4sites website, lots are on there.

Thanks for your comment and I do appreciate that you can use the sequence that you have described but I do like to use the map search. For me, it offers a much better overview of a site's location in relation to the broader area, especially if I am away from my usual 'hunting' ground.

Well, I was going to book a couple of nights next week at Pembray (the dogs love it there) for £31pn but I have now booked the CCC Rhandirmwyn site instead (which they also love!). Grass, no EHU, over 60s discount £12.80pn (for two).

What's not to like?

There are maps of campsites galore on line -  Search 4Sites, PitchUp, UK Campsite (for that one you can specify only show me Club Sites, CS and CL)  and good old Google - so not need to rely on this club’s own map.

Wasted hours today adding 6 bookings to basket, then tried to pay deposit which was refused twice but then left whilst bookings were processed. After waiting for completion the message to say bookings failed appears and told to contact HQ on the regularly booking number which will not connect due to " unforseen amount of calls " Left in limbo until I can speak to someone tomorrow. Decided to check my credit card account and hey presto two deposits @ Ā£365 shown as pending šŸ˜” I cannot find the words to express my anger that would be allowed on here, sufficie to say the Club has been totally inept in the implementation of the new system which has obviously never been tested to the extent required.

It looks like the club has banked rather a lot of our money, the same has happened to me and no doubt others. I will expect a prompt response as this is a very serious development, I have reported this, it might be good if you report it too. I have contacted my bank to report the systems failure on the club site and I'm hoping I can cancel one of the two payments pending.

I noticed the web site retained my previous effort to make a booking and I cancelled the details before proceeding further.

Until now I gave the club the benefit of the doubt but this is a serious matter regarding financial transactions.

All I wanted to do was view my site bookings that were made prior to the update but I had to join the queue of members attempting to book a site. I was not looking to book. I just wanted to look at my bookings!

When I did get to my bookings, the list gives all the relevant info apart from the site name!

I also noticed that the message displayed as I waited informed me that I could navigate away from the page and would then have 20 minutes to log into the booking page after notification that my moment had arrived. Does this mean that if I did not return to the bookings page for some reason, I am still blocking a slot that another member could use during those 20 minutes?

This is terrible. Obviously it has been inadequately tested. Unacceptable.  Imagine if a bank had done the same.....

We deserve an apology and an explanation and a rapid fix.

Seems the fall out of transferring old bookings to new system is beginning. The autosleepers forum has a member arriving at a site, obviously with a Motorhome, being told he had booked a grass pitch. He tells them he booked a standard pitch and expects a hard standing. Told only longstayers are getting h/s pitches. Think he got one eventually.

I seem to remember that we were told we could go into our bookings and change the pitch type. No chance at present, even if you remember that is what you might need to do. Again no communication.

Indeed we do. That’s exactly why I started the thread in How to use CT but there’s been no meaningful response from the club. They apparently just don’t give a fig, Newydd.
