Yes indeedy!!! What a good idea - the driver can see a peg from whatever side he is reversing from. I commented on it to the warden, who said 2 pegs have been rolled out across the network "because some people have difficulty in understanding the rule when there was only one peg."

On the rare occasions we enter "peg land" I always use the mover as we go in forward  due to our door being on the right.

As far as I remember you can go nose or rear in on CAMC sites regardless of whether your unit was manufactured over here or over there. The pegs are really only there to help a few understand and maintain firebreaks. Don’t think the pegs constitute regimented pitching but they do provide a talking point for a few who don’t understand the need.

"It enabled the  manager to say "There's your pitch park any way you wish but please stay with the gravel area"."

I'm surprised he managed to say all that whilst laughing at the same time! wink

obviously doesn't matter where the caravan was made, but it would be pretty pointless pitching rear offside to the peg if your caravan's door then faced away from the pitch you've just parked on .... especially if you'd wanted to put up an awning!

From my observations the pegs have now been placed on the pitch so there is the same area either side to accommodate a car or an awning. Makes no difference does it, just need to work out which option is best.

I regard  putting the door  that way in the cramped circumstances of  CAMC sites as good manners even if its lost on some.

Posted on 06/05/2023 11:46

But there are pitches, quite a few in my experience which it makes not a jot of difference and good manners can be maintained like those at the end of roads and runs of pitches. You just have to employ common sense and not pander to those who are lost in their own regimented ways.
