We have toured length and breadth of UK, never received anything other than a very warm welcome anywhere, you just give the respect and understanding to others that you would hope to be given in your home area😁
There are some lovely little shortcuts to get to places in hotspots if you search them out. And turn off the Sat NavπŸ‘We used to do Bodinnick to Lydford (Dartmoor) twice a week when holidaying on River Fowey. Peach of a traffic buster over bridge at Gunnislake, straight up hill, bypass the twists and turns at Gulworthy and down to Tavistock. Not for big vehicles though, and you need to know where the cross roads are....πŸ˜‚

They were converted in Devon. I think it might have been the origin of Devon Conversions.

Probably trace it back to John Wesley and all those Methodist chapels. wink

Let’s put it this way. Some of the comments sounded a bit get out of my town type comments.

I don’t see it like that Dave, but certainly not the intention. The perennial popularity of the SW speaks to all it has to offer which includes a warm welcome from locals who are generally very welcoming to visitors, but do like to poke a bit of innocent fun at the antics of some of them now and then.

Come and see us, you won’t be disappointed by the welcome, but maybe the crowds πŸ₯΄

With a bit of luck the entire 2021 school holidays will be cancelled.  All the little darlings can recover from their mental problems at school stay with their friends and catch up with their learning leaving their parents to get back to work recover from all the home schooling and us oldies to enjoy the spring, summer and autumn unmolested.  πŸ‘πŸ˜„

Ditto..TDA. Always took the 'what we can do' attitude...we have not been given a date for our second jab only that it will be within the 12 weeks as recommended by Pfizer. We are now into our 7th week since the first...

We're the same, although we've booked a series of sites from just after Easter. We are just waiting too to hear what's said on Monday as we will cancel those up till we are allowed to get away and then hopefully add more on the end to make a full worthwhile trip.

Yes, I think you are probably right on your timings of Sites re opening GT, but quite rightly there are other countrywide priorities to get right before opening the holiday starting gate. Not least the schools. I remarked to my Sister yesterday about the lack of children out and about, they aren’t all in school, but not seeing as many out with family on walks or on bikes at the moment.

We're the opposite here, tda, there have been more children about in small groups of with their parents/grandparents than we've seen on our walks in the previous weeks. It's half term here which could have a lot to do with this.
