Yes, I think you are probably right on your timings of Sites re opening GT, but quite rightly there are other countrywide priorities to get right before opening the holiday starting gate. Not least the schools. I remarked to my Sister yesterday about the lack of children out and about, they aren’t all in school, but not seeing as many out with family on walks or on bikes at the moment.

A roof box isn't necessarily evidence  of rule breaking My roof box stays on all year round round as I only use that car for towing and holiday touring and I am still in "staycation "in Cheshirefrown

exactly ... a bloke at work always has a roof box on his car even just going to work & back.

Only time we ever used a roof box was to go on holiday. To Cornwall. To a cottage. The percentage of cars down there with roof boxes on, and none local plates was and is a holiday time giveaway. Roof boxes in non holiday hotspots don’t tend to be as prolific. 😉

Most cars owners in this area do not have garages , and numerous have roof boxes  that are never removed ,even the Merc's and BMs

Exactly the situation, TDA. Up country registrations, roof boxes, dawdling while looking for junctions, nervous of narrow roads - it ain't rocket science to work out they're not locals. Obviously certain folk disagree with me but they don't live here.

Don't think our area will be such a nice place to be this season. We usually either try to get away for the school summer hols or plan jobs to do at home. This year I think it will be like the school hols all season. Speaking to my daughter, who lives in an area surrounded by holiday/ camp/caravan/chalet sites, she said that the owners/staff have told her that they are now booked solid from May to October. Obvious really, people want to get out, they are unsure if they will be able to travel abroad so they head for the beaches in this country. As I said though I don't think I would book to be with the crowds. Think we might book a city/town break.

Our police and Council seem to be all over it Tinwheeler, they are regularly knocking on the doors of second home owners. Seems the neighbours here are reporting visitors from away.
