following on from the early arrival story, which I completely agree with if it says 1pm then it should be 1pm. To add to thus we arrived at the required time at Castleton to find 2 units already their booking in, when we finally were let in there was a caravan outfit behind us didn’t take a great deal of notice until we arrived at the service pitches of which there are 8 ish in on separate area and found a women stood on a pitch saving it for the outfit behind us. Total cheek and disrespect for not only the rules but also fellow members

We often park up after booking in and walk the site when we find a pitch we like the wife will stay there while I go back and fetch the unit, far better than driving round in circles, in my opinion once you've booked in any available pitch is yours to choose physically driving onto the pitch to claim it is nonsense and anyone trying it on with my wife stood there would certainly be made to look the fool they are.

Obviously you nip into the office and legitimise your wife's claim to the pitch when you collect your unit 👍🏻

The arrival time at this CCC site is strictly controlled ,   a chain is across the road at the entrance which is removed at just before 1300hrs we went out about 1230 and there was Queue , we had seen people wandering around the site as we left our pitch So they may have been seeing what pitches were vacant

At the ever popular Hawes  sat in the queue three bodies run of into the site a couple holding something in there hands, two return a couple of minutes later.Booked in and set of on the tour of pitches, saw the one I fancied and slowed down only to see one of the bodies I’d seen enter the site earlier run onto the pitch,I thought sod you mate and started reversing onto pitch he came running around to side of car gesticulating I said sorry is this your pitch he stupidly replied no,too which I promptly reversed onto pitch he walked of sulking.it turned out the other two were motorhome crew that had sneaked on and placed there obligatory”this pitch is occupied by” sign.I enjoy challenging the selfish and will carry on doing so.

No there's nothing to legitimise, we are talking about about a caravan pitch here not a legal matter, once I'm setting up the the wife will pop over let the warden know the pitch number and perhaps continue the friendly chat from check in, we are on holiday, it would be a good idea for some to remember why they are there, for a relaxing holiday.

So ....  we can all jump the queue so we can then relax on a pitch ... sounds to be a plan! 🙄

No one mentioned legalities. It’s a matter of good manners and friendliness. See earlier posts. Those by MSF, in particular.

I’m not sure I’d leave someone I cared about in a situation of possibly being challenged and/or abused for blocking others from selecting that pitch. Your choice.🤷🏻‍♂️

I like your style. Reading all this makes me wonder why there is never fisticuffs on pitches.
